Final Fantasy’s Definitive and Absolute Power Level Tier List

Posted on December 16th, 2009 at 11:18 AM by Squall_of_SeeD

Because we here at TheLifestream forums are geeks, we’ve had a thread running for a little while now on who the most powerful villains and heroes of the Final Fantasy franchise are. As well, I’ve had an interest lately in doing “top 10″ lists. See this thread for my “Top 10 Games of the Decade” list. [/shameless self-promotion]

Anyway, that being the case, it was inevitable that I decide to make an article like this for the front page. Seeing as how we’re now on the cusp of Final Fantasy XIII’s release in Japan, this seems like the right time for such a list, ere we have to include another hero and villain in our calculations.

So join me, won’t you, in celebration of the most powerful heroes and villains of the first 22 years (omg Sephiroth/Kabbalah reference!) of the Final Fantasy series.

Cloud_S has again graced us with renders pulled from the UT website, this time of the characters’ alternate costumes such as Green-haired Terra and Squall’s SeeD uniform. These aren’t quite as high quality as the last set but appreciated nonetheless.

As a reminder to anyone interested Dissidia Universal Tuning is identical to the Western release of Dissidia save for the ability to switch between the Japanese and English battle dialogue.

A new version of Dissidia, named “Dissidia Final Fantasy Universal Tuning”  will be released on November 1st, in Japan.

This new version is similar to the International ones of some of the Final Fantasy games, with features that were not present in the original release of the game.

This new version of Dissidia will feature the English dialogue and new attacks, presumably the ones that will be featured in the western version of the game.  It will also be compatible with japanese game saves. Whether or not “Universal Tuning” will feature any other additions remains to be seen.

Posted on July 23rd, 2009 at 10:29 PM by Makoeyes987

For all those fans waiting for Dissidia Final Fantasy, the E3 demo of the game has been added to the Playstation Network today. As with all PSN demos, it’s free to download and play. So charge up your PSPs, and make sure you’re at least running Version 5.50.

For our friends in the Europe, it appears that the demo isn’t available for download due to region differences, however, we do have a link to the Demo file for those that would still like to get to try it out. You’ll have to drop the eboot.php file into the PSP/GAME directory to get it to work. Here’s a diagram of the directory to put it in.

EDIT: Thanks to user comments we’ve realized that the license is also necessary to play the demo as well. Sorry about the confusion. Below you’ll find the download link for the license to put in your PSP “LICENSE” folder. You can find the folder in the “PSP” folder.
