As mentioned in the previous news post, Aerith has also heard Cosmos’ call, it would seem. But she can only be bothered to occasionally pop in and help her friends out when absolutely necessary. Taking a page out of Polyphony Digital’s Gran Turismo book, Dissidia 012 will have a demo available for purchase called Dissidia Duodecim Prologus Bigus Dickus Final Fantasy for about $3. Said demo supposedly is a bit more substantial than your average demo but the only reason anyone will buy it will undoubtedly be for the code that unlocks Aerith as an assist character in the proper game.

Well, it certainly looks like Square-Enix was indeed holding back at TGS for this, as there is a veritable flood of tiny snippets and bigger trailers and the like. I’m going to make an attempt at consolidating some of this for you. I may not have all the sources as stuff is literally coming in from all over, but pictures and trailers are almost assuredly legitimate. I’ll stuff it all after the break.

In this episode of Japanese gamers getting all the cool stuff: a new Dissidia-themed PSP-3000 has been announced for release on March 3 to be bundled with the game for a price of ¥22,890 (USD$275). It features Amano depictions of Chaos and Cosmos on the front, and the game’s logo on the reverse.

While most likely not the final version of the cover (speculation is that the final will contain more of the new characters once announced), it is interesting to see that this placeholder will feature most, if not all the new characters.

The new trailer can be watched on the Japanese site by clicking on the button for it in the upper left portion of the menu. It includes a lineup of all new characters announced to date as well as a fleeting glimpse of a certain summoner in a purple skirt.

And if, by chance, you didn’t believe us about Yuna. Here is the elusive trailer in question, kindly subtitled for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy! (she doesn’t show up until the end, and even then its brief, don’t blink)

According to this week’s issue Famitsu, initial rumors of Yuna’s appearance in Dissidia Duodecim are indeed true. Presumably it will be her Final Fantasy X appearance, since the trailer reports indicated her walking barefoot on water as if preforming a sending.
Also confirmed my Tetsuya Nomura and director Mitsunori Takehashi:
*More characters post-SNES Final Fantasy series.
*Returning characters will have a lot of changes, such as Kefka and Shantotto.
*The Story Mode will have 15+ hours game play.
*The original Dissidia story will be included and enhanced, making total play time over 60 hours.
*Besides the new 3D World Map System, the Board based System from the first game will remain be in the game.
*More summons will be available.
*Laguna from FFVIII was left out in Kingdom Hearts BBS so he can debut in this game.
*Dissidia Duodecim 012: Final Fantasy is set for a release on March 3, 2011 in Japan.

As I often do, I’ve ripped the various images of artwork and renders from both the Japanese and North American websites for Dissidia Duodecim 012. Normally these are posted in topics, but as it has been requested, I shall post these up on the main page.
Images are after the jump. Note, not all the characters have their full allotment of images available yet. For completionist sake, I’m even tossing in ripped content from the original Dissidia page, to fill in what isn’t on either country’s Dissidia Duodecim 012 site (at present none of the sites have data which contains images for FF9, FF10 and FF11). I may re-post this once all the characters have their various artwork/renders available.
Needless to say, after the jump there are many thumbnails for all the images. Loading times may vary. (more…)

The European release date for Dissidia 012 has been confirmed for 25th March, which means that European fans won’t have to wait long for the game this time around.
Thanks go to our member Tetsujin for bringing this to our attention.
Joining the roster are FFIII’s Onion Knight and Cloud of Darkness and FFVIII’s Squall Lionheart and Ultimecia. In each one’s profile, we can see their special alternate uniforms, in addition to their attires from the original Dissidia as well as their Ex-Bursts. And last but not least, we also have Laguna Loire, who will challenge Jecht for the “Coolest FF dad” Award.
Thanks go to our visitor Ella and our member Scrat for bringing this to our attention.
Edit: And the Dissidia Website was updated once again, this time having Gabranth joining the roster and FFV being available in the FF Historical Compedium.
Thanks go to our member SkyGrinderomnislash7IV for bringing this up to our attention.
…But what’s more shocking is the update to the North American site. The North American Dissidia site updated their character section to include all the newly revealed characters but…there seems to have been a glitch with Cloud of Darkness’s profile and alternate outfit.
Unless Cloud of Darkness is into cosplay for another FF, I think we’re looking at the new character alternate look for Ultimecia.

A new scan from Weekly Shonen Jump has been posted. Laguna Loire from Final Fantasy VIII has been added to Dissidia Duodecim 012! As expected, his fighting style involves the use of his machine gun, which fires repeatedly as you hold the button allowing you to run at the same time as well.
Also, a world map has been added, which unsurprisingly, looks like the world map of Final Fantasy.
