I think those are sunflowers. A wild variety as opposed to the enormous things we’re used to seeing. At the very least, they seem too yellow to be daisies.

And, doing a little searching, they look a lot like Helianthus Giganteus Linnaeus, which is often referred to as “Wild Sunflower.”

I am so glad that they decided to redo Advent Children Complete! I know it was a year ago, but I just got my hands on a copy and it’s AMAZING. I enjoyed the extra detail they’ve added with everything, and how they’ve cleared up some of the confusion that resonated before (it’s been almost five years since I’ve played FFVII last–I’ve forgotten small bits and pieces XD). The new fight between Sephiroth and Cloud was epic as well. The only thing that I wish that Square Enix could have done better was elaborate more on the relationship between Cloud and Tifa, just before he went to look for the kids at the Forgotten City. But I’m a Cloud and Tifa fanatic, so my opinion probably doesn’t say much as a whole about anything. XD (And I still love Aerith, by the way. But she belongs with Zack.) :p

I see him recognizing himself as a hero both as showing that he’s out of his self-loathing phase and as honoring Zack — as he’s supposed to be Zack’s living legacy. So he’s also recognizing Zack as a hero by acknowleding himself as such.

Wow, thanks so much for this! I don’t have a Blu-Ray player and won’t be getting one anytime soon, but I’ve seen Advent Children and wondered what was changed for ACC.

Am I reading correctly, that at the end where they’re standing on the cliff, Cloud tells Denzel that that was “the place where a hero began his journey”? Odd to hear Cloud referring to himself as a hero – he spent the entire movie building up to just seeing himself as competent! – but I assume he’s not talking about Zack. Maybe Cloud is gradually adopting a little of Zack’s cockiness!
