FF Dissidia Universal Tuning Official Site Alternate Renders

Cloud_S has again graced us with renders pulled from the UT website, this time of the characters’ alternate costumes such as Green-haired Terra and Squall’s SeeD uniform. These aren’t quite as high quality as the last set but appreciated nonetheless.

As a reminder to anyone interested Dissidia Universal Tuning is identical to the Western release of Dissidia save for the ability to switch between the Japanese and English battle dialogue.

So… If this is identical to the Western version, then that article that was on the site a few days ago about Lightning being confirmed as a character in this version wasn’t true? O_o

    • Lagunamov says:

Nope, that was a hoax. The guy who did it went to the lenghts of producing a Lightning 3D model, and after that all it took was photoshopping a bit, blurring to make the model’s difference in texture with the other chars less noticeable, and that’s that.

      Here’s the french original http://www.dissidia-france.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=3195

Oh, well I guess that explains it. Thanks for the clarification. ;) I can’t believe someone would go to that much trouble just to start a rumor though. The April Fools jokes that The Lifestream did this year were one thing, but good grief.

Oh Bartz, you look so fabulous. *hand gesture*

  3. Erkaz says:

This is an in-game model of them, i think…

I wish they had changed clothing/hairstyles for more of the characters instead of just doing a palette swap…

    • Lagunamov says:

I second that. A few of the palete swaps were understandable, like Terra and Kefka, the FFI guys, and a few others (mainly those before VII, sticking to the Amano color schemes). But others are just lazy. I personally would have liked to see Cecil in his DS version of the Dark Knight and Paladin, Zidane disguised as a Pluto Knight, or Tidus as Shuyin (but that could be stretching it, being different people and all, but who cares, right?).
Seriously, when it comes to alternate modes, I think they could have done better for quite a few of them.
