I'm not sure if that's what it means for Dissidia, but EX in other games and series has either meant Extra mode or Experienced. Either works for EX burst. They get stronger with 'Ex', natch.

Addendum: It is also short for Extraordinary, in some cases.

Taking an idea from, ironically, theoretical physicists:

Maybe several staff members had different ideas as to what it could mean, but they couldn't agree, so they just left it open to interpretation?

Sounds as likely as anything to me.

I kinda thought Ex-Burst was for Explosive Burst.

Okay, So I'm trying to get 100% on Squall's DO but this is driving me up the goddamn wall here. I've battled and unlocked every single battle piece, cleared every level with 100% health, grabbed every bit of treasure, ether and summonstones lying about and gotten all of the level rewards and after replaying through his DO 5 times already I am still on 98%. ninety freaking eight.

This is driving me nuts and I don't understand what on earth could that missing 2% be ajrhrrghjffgjdaaaaaarggh.
[/angrish]

....So yeaaaaaah. I've looked at the maps on gamefaqs and I don't really see how I could've missed anything after 5 replays and still not get 100%. >_o

I'm just a girl who bought the Wii because of the Wii Mote. It's so nice and it vibrates.

Gee, ya think?

Now that I'm not so pissed at Dissidia anymore I'm going to play through Squall's DO again and scour through every stage to make sure I don't miss anything. So now I have to ask: am I going to have to fight every DP battle piece again for the 100%? Cause some of those pieces are really tricky and outright mean.

Edit: Nevermind, you guys suck.

Only kidding. Found that last 2%.
