The Dissidia Final Fantasy Demo has been added to the Playstation Network

by July 23, 2009 0 comments

For all those fans waiting for Dissidia Final Fantasy, the E3 demo of the game has been added to the Playstation Network today. As with all PSN demos, it’s free to download and play. So charge up your PSPs, and make sure you’re at least running Version 5.50.

For our friends in the Europe, it appears that the demo isn’t available for download due to region differences, however, we do have a link to the Demo file for those that would still like to get to try it out. You’ll have to drop the eboot.php file into the PSP/GAME directory to get it to work. Here’s a diagram of the directory to put it in.

EDIT: Thanks to user comments we’ve realized that the license is also necessary to play the demo as well. Sorry about the confusion. Below you’ll find the download link for the license to put in your PSP “LICENSE” folder. You can find the folder in the “PSP” folder.

So if you want a look at the game yourself, or want a heads up mastering the gameplay, definitely give this demo a try.

It’s totally there under the PSP Demos.

Has anyone else tried it out yet? I’ve just gottent to try running through it as Cloud, and I’m still getting the hang of it. It’s quite an intriguing combat system though. I can definitely say that I’m looking forward to getting better at it before getting the full game.

    Updated!

@ Tennyo & the others – I think the people that weren’t seeing it were Yurpeenz, and it’s apparently not in their PSP Store. We’ve got a download for it now though for all the others who can’t get it from their regions.

    Thanks for that but.

“The copyright information is invalid” I was kinda expecting that anyway.

Its awsome! I love its. The Gamespeed is very nice, hard to stick on for untrained people.
I love it to slash around with Cloud and Sepiroth!
Btw. its even nice if you play it on big screen.

Same for me, bro. What’s up with that?

      DaySekay 24 July, 2009, 19:54

Hey, try and put the file in PSP/GAME/EBOOT.PBP, I created a folder with the same name as the file in the GAME folder, it was supposed to work.
But, when I am in the game folder on the PSP, I can see the preview screen, yet on the background image I see a screen from Wipeout (I previously had downloaded a demo of that game) and when I try to boot it I get the “The copyright information is invalid” error message.
      Formated the card, it’s useless.

But still, give it a try and put the game on a folder with the same name inside GAME.

      Hi every one,
thanks for the tip with the new folder. I also get the invalid copyright information error. I am a total psp noob so I’m sorry if i ask a stupid question, but is there a way to solve this problem or where can i get this file?

Why can’t there be a European Demo?

    • DaySekay
      DaySekay 25 July, 2009, 13:11

Well, there’s only one way of solving it, someone just needs to put up the License file for us to download
It’s that simple, otherwise, You’ll never get it to work, ever.

Seriously, it’s rather stupid, just because we’re getting it like 2 weeks after they use that as an excuse, Sony just fails sometimes.

Have you tried downloading it more than once? Though I downloaded it from the PSN website, the demo took me three tries before it downloaded properly.

I managed to get the demo working in my PSP, but I had to create a USA PSN account and then a new user on my PS3 in order to be able to use said account. Once that’s done I only had to download the demo and copy it to the PSP… And voilá: Been playing it all weekend ^_^

    • DaySekay
      DaySekay 27 July, 2009, 00:01

I’ve thought about that too, but the US option when choosing Region upon creation of the account is disabled, my I.P is automatically processed and my country is also automatically chosen.
      They’re getting smart….

    • DaySekay
      DaySekay 27 July, 2009, 04:26

      Oh, I have an idea
Since the account is only for that, could you lend me your user name/mail and password for that account?
I was gonna suggest creating one for me, but that seems to much…

Anyway, if you can, send to [email protected]

I am so loving that demo :
The whole thing is rather short. A lot shorter than the demo’s I’m used to seeing, anyways.

But, oh well, it’s still fun. I play best as Cloud, then again, he’s my favorite character of all time.

    I’m such a nerd OTL

Hey, everybody! There is another way to get it and it apparently works, but it’s a torrent. Here: http://www.gamestorrents.com/psp-game-final-fantasy-dissidia-englishdemo-english-descargar-torrent-5261.html

Cilck on “Descargar Torrent” to download it, open the file and let it download. It’s only 73 MBs this time. When it’s done, undo the RAR and extract the ISO. Rename the .iso to “Final Fantasy Dissidia” or “Dissidia Final Fantasy” and put it on your PSP. Restart your PSP and there you go. This is confirmed to work.

However, I – having dial up – have not tried this yet, but I will try and give the shout if it works or not. You guys try it too, since it’s another way and it apparently works.

Only works with custom firmware, but I tried anyway.

Stuff that come from the official PSN Store have DRM (even FREE DEMOS). If you notice, there will be a “Liscense” folder under the PSP folder that willl be created when you download form the PSN store.

Even if you give away the [NPUH90029> Eboot.pbp] it wouldn’t work as it is locked to the original downloader’s PSP.

Also, the ISO only works for those with CFW.

      ETA:

The only way to remove the DRM is to use a decryptor, which unfortunately turns the eboot.pbp file into an ISO, which can only be used with CFW. That’s where the *ISO* comes from.

I haven’t found/heard of a work around for it yet. As for uploading the liscense, I searched my memory card, but I couldn’t find this “licesnse” I just saw a folder. :/

Anyway, just wait a few more weeks you guys.

    @Xal
You have a point, but that’s not the problem here.

    @ZackFair1219
Thank you, but that only works for “hacked” PSP’s

    @Reference
You are partially incorrect, it is true that stuff about the License, but, it is possible to share the file, and that was originally how I played the US demo of God of War.

Nooo I had meant you can’t share it without doing something about the license thing.

I just downloaded it and the preview works but then when I try to play it, it won’t allow me because of the copyrights. Can anyone post a link to download the Licence or something like that?

Thanks for the License file. But somehow, it still says it’s not valid. I tried to re-download both the game and the license file and restart my PSP, but it won’t do. I followed all the instructions. I wonder if i’m the only one with this problem.

license issues for psn demos, are psp specific, so you can’t simply copy another license from other psp, unless you only download it in psp with your psn account, unless your in a cfw, there will be no problems

i think i saw a demo in eboot format that works even in official fw psps, maybe if you message me with my mail i can give you the eboot format demo
