Two new V-Jump scans have appeared online showcasing the new footage of Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete and On the Way to a Smile: Case of Denzel. A look at the OVA’s animation style is revealed as well as new scenes from Advent Children Complete showcasing Tseng and Elena in Edge, Denzel being brought to Seventh Heaven by Cloud, and new artwork of Cloud and Sephiroth.

With such an interesting choice of characters for the cover, does it hint that these characters will play prominent roles in each of the stories contained therein?

SQUARE-ENIX will be re-publishing On the Way to a Smile in Japan on the same day of the release of Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete on April 16th with the suggested price of ￥ 1,470. It will come with the already published Case of Denzel and Case of Tifa, as well Case of Barret, which was never published at Japan. Along with them, this version will bring four new stories, Case of Nanaki, Case of Yuffie, Case of Shinra and a mysterious one called…Case of Lifestream. I wonder what that one could be about? The official FFVII Advent Children Complete site has been updated with the content of the Blu-ray disc. Along with Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete and On the Way to a Smile – EPISODE: DENZEL – Final Fantasy VII, it will contain REMINISCENCE of FFVII (that came with the original AC dvd), REMINISCENCE of FFVII COMPILATION, TURBULENCE of FFVII ADVENT CHILDREN and a collection of Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete Trailers.

The new Advent Children Complete article in the latest Dengeki PlayStation issue reveals that FFVII On the Way to a Smile: Case of Denzel will be animated by A1 Pictures (the same studio who made Persona: Trinity Soul, Kannagi, Ōkiku Furikabutte and others).

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete News

Square-Enix announced that the collection of short stories from Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, “On the Way to a Smile” will be released in book form, after originally only being published on the official Japanese “On the Way to a Smile” website and the “Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children – Prologue” book. The stories take place in between the the two year gap of the end of Final Fantasy VII and the beginning of Final Fantasy VII Advent Children, and will be the first time all the stories have been together in a single book for Japanese fans. Also included in this book release will be new stories for characters never before released, such as Yuffie, Red XIII and the Turks. A book release has been already done for Western fans with the release of the Limited Edition box set of the movie, however it is unknown if and/or when these new stories will hit Western shores. The North American exclusive story “Case of Barret” will also be included in the Japanese release.

A new Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete trailer was shown in the Square-Enix Closed Mega Theatre today revealing more of the changes and expansions of the director’s cut of the film. New scenes include a longer, more detailed look into Yazoo lurring and transporting the orphans of the slums to be taken to the Forgotten Capital and added Zack flashback screentime incorporating new scenes while Zack and Cloud were on the run from Shinra during Crisis Core. Included in the trailer was the classic truck bed scene with Cloud, Zack, and the truck driver evading pursuing soliders and the truck driver yelling at Zack over gun fire to run and move to a safer place.

Dissidia: Final Fantasy News

Also, Cloud Strife of FFVII and Terra Branford of FFVI have also been confirmed for Dissidia: Final Fantasy in the latest Square-Enix Closed Mega Theatre trailer, finally completing the roster of heroes and villains for the game.

Update:

There will also be a Limited Edition Dissidia PSP & a set of Potion drinks released with character images. Some character art and cinematic screenshots have also appeared online.
