It stands 34.5 cm (about 13.5 inches), will cost 15,540 yen (about $174 USD) and is slated for a release sometime this spring.

Famitsu Scan Translations

Posted on December 3rd, 2008 at 10:21 PM by Schala-Kitty

Continuing from the previous article, we have further translations of the Famitsu scans, done in part by myself and in part by Hitoshura.

We received get more information on several of the different optional functions in the game. First is the ability to record battles, including being able to edit and control the camera, and to save it as an AVI file that you can share. Another point was when you enter into the Online Lobby, there is the chance of randomly receiving an “Artifact Item” which you can rename to activate special effects. In the examples, the same sword may be named the Blood Sword by one player, then be the Earnest Ice Sword for another, and be renamed the Falcon Sword by yet another. When viewing an Artifact Item on the equip screen, it will show a list of all of the previous owners and who renamed it along the way.

We also have our first look at the Command Battle System. It can be used for those who are more adept at action RPGs than fighting games. Attacks on Brave points will be referred to as the general “Fight” command, while attacks on HP will called “Certain kill.” There are other options for running, long-distance attacks, and summoning.

Next is the Museum function, which is exactly what is says, allowing the viewing of character profiles including artwork and in-game model, summon profiles (the picture of Ultros/Orthos confirms that he is a summon in this game), a theater for viewing scenes from the game, the ability to change your player icon and look over your game-play records, and watch battle videos.

The PP Catalogue allows you to buy extras with your accumulated PP. These include unlocking Chaos characters (at 500 PP a piece), alternate costumes, maps for quick-play mode, background music, effect boost symbols, and player icons for your Friend Card. From the scan, there appears to be over 300 different icons or so.

Also, an excerpt from the interview – When directly asked if there would be an FFXII character, the staff was as evasive as ever, instead talking about why they decided on Shantotto. When they did touch on the subject Nomura stated, “Shantotto was just one surprise, and someone from XII would be fun…” Either way, the staff did confirm that there will be no characters from the FFXIII games, since the teams from those games are still developing them and the designs for their abilities.

Finally, under the break, we have assorted clips of the dialogue taken from the screenshots.

Cloud & Sephiroth’s alternate costumes were also shown (Cloud wearing his AC uniform and Sephiroth in his shirtless final boss form, with his wing visible). Though not entirely new, the cover of the Ultimania Alpha was also shown.

These scans also show more in-battle images of Shantotto’s EX Mode. It notes that due to her high level of Brave this black mage wielding “Leveled-Up Magic” as her concept describes her, is capable of devasting HP attacks. Her EX-Mode is based around the FFXI concept of a skillchain ending with a magic burst, with available spells by being Quake, Tornado, Freeze, Flair, Flood and then finally the option to burst. as well as several images of the characters interacting with each other.

New Dissidia scans of Terra, Cloud, & Sephiroth

Posted on November 19th, 2008 at 1:58 PM by X-SOLDIER

Some rather high quality scans of Terra in her green-haired alternate costume, as well as in-game images of both of the Final Fantasy VII characters. Sephiroth’s Masamune seems to have grown to an even more ridiculous length in the images shown in his scan. The combat images show various limit break moves from FFVII used the game, and also displays Cloud weilding the Ultima Weapon in his EX Mode.

New High-Res Advent Children Complete Scans

Posted on October 16th, 2008 at 8:00 PM by Cthulhu

In our earlier post, we posted some low-quality pictures of an Advent Children Complete promotional handout from the Tokyo Game Show 2009. http://ff7ac.hotcafe.to/ posted some high-quality scans of those handouts for your viewing pleasure. We’ve taken the liberty to make some cutouts as well, but since it’s printed material the quality isn’t picture-perfect – buy the movie when it’s out for that.

Thanks to member Dark & Divine for bringing our attention to these.
