Yeah, you’d never be able to tell at first glance. On a closer look, maaaaybe you can see some small signs it’s 3D (the details are always consistent, for instance) - but that’s also probably hindsight bias, aha.
Most 3D anime looks sterile, but this has exaggerated motion, distortion during frames, all the stuff that makes 2D animation appealing - they’ve proven 3D as a legitimately viable alternative with this.
They’ve done really tremendous work nailing the original TWEWY style on top of that. Peak 2000s Nomura.

it looks as though the cell-shading is kept uniform with 3DCG, but the characters are drawn over with black vector lines.
