On the date Aerith says something along the lines of "Something has been bothering me" and then goes on about Cloud acting like Zack and wanting to meet the real him. Really in the compilation she says that on the date and in CoL so she means business imo. XD

I think CC was just trying to show a more detailed version of how they intended the scene to go. Since Zack was only a minor character in FFVII and his death was an optional scene, I'm sure they didn't really care about the trauma of it then. I'll wait for the right moment... Lol actually on...
