I liked the movie, but I see what you mean. The overall message I got was it's never too late to change, however the conversion in jail mainly came from being ass raped and having a bromance with a dude who does a somewhat funny, KKK impression. Thought they would have explored the change a bit...

I've heard Christopher Eccleston was brilliant. I just loved how David Tennant seemes to bring the character to life, was a bit if a rotating door with his sidekicks though?

Whilst the RE remaster was awesome, I kinda wish they'd quit with the remasters. I really want then to go back to the roots. Make a RE game they makes me terrified to open a door. Not the action based games they have become. Creepy music, frightening environments etc.
