I'm going to quote Flint's latest round-up here, since it's news to me and hasn't been posted here yet.

According to our source, who recorded voice-over for one of the characters in the game, at least 90% of the English localization is complete. The dubbing sessions took place in the last quarter of 2011, just after the release (October 27th) of Final Fantasy Type-0 in Japan. The entirety of the English dub recording is said to be complete.

But things went wrong near the beginning of 2012. PSP software and hardware sales had not been doing very well in the US – namely SE’s own PSP titles which had failed to perform at retail earlier in 2011. Square Enix reacted to this by essentially shelving Type-0 for good.

Not sure how much I trust that site but it does make an unfortunate kind of sense.

Really? I thought it makes no sense. 90% of the localisation done, money already spent. Why cancel it? Oh well, whatever the reason is, we won't be seeing it here.

Looks like it's been given the same treatment that FFII and Mother 1 got. Someone'll probably make a ROM dump of the UMD of the English Type-0 sometime in the future.

I didn't mean business sense, I meant it makes sense from what we've seen. Type-0 is a title we expected just to come to the west and we don't have any real reason as to why it hasn't.

This reason might be stupid, but it fits with what we've heard about it being released outside of Japan so far.

I just don't understand what all the fuss about Versus is. I don't share it, obviously.

I want the game, and hope soon we will learn more about it on a regular basis, but - so far, there's nothing I'm really excited over.

The entrance of the one in the Versus trailer, and existence of female dragoons at all is a cool concept.

Also, the execution of a 'modern day' royal family (royal families) seems also very well done (though the king makes me think of a mafia type).

I like what I see of the cityscape. Not so wild about the rest of the nature scenes though... something seems missing to me.

Let me not forget the classical (theme?) song. I have no clue what it's called...

To be honest, I'm not expecting anything anymore. That doesn't mean I think it won't come out. I just don't think too much about it.

Sure, it does look good and interesting and fun. If it comes out, then I'll be happy. If it doesn't, I won't be too disappointed anymore.

And I love to joke about it not coming out :D

For me the big deal is more in that they promised some big ideas, then seemed to forget the project entirely while focusing on multiple newer ideas. It's an embarrassment for a company that has already fallen so far for them to be coming up on seven years since this thing's announcement without so much as a projected year of release (much less a release period or actual date).

I've been following that really closely, they were trying hard to keep it quiet for a while so that it didn't get the wrong attention...

They seriously asked Square about it? That's...stupid.
