I keep wondering if I want in on the podcast.

But I'm shy and don't know how valuable my opinion is. :awesome:

Its pretty neat and you leave the call a much more knowledgeable person.
For instance I've never seen a single episode of Battlestar... Now I know everything about it apparently :monster:

Well you know all the sexual stuff about Battlestar Galactica now that's for sure and the ladies Tres and myself would have sexy times with. :awesome:

Do you guys want to organize a podcast without me this month? I dont have much time off the next few weeks, and Im gonna try to get a few things finished off

Yeah, I'll organize it if Ryu can join me to record. I'm taking a week off work, so I'll be off for what looks like nine consecutive days from the 13th through the 20th. One afternoon or evening during the week would probably be best for me just because my wife will be at work and I won't really have any distractions (everyone else is going to the beach that week; we're staying here to save money because we're buying a house).

You know when would work for me: the times which are most inconvenient for everyone else. :monster:

My efforts to organize a podcast this week were shot to hell by Mother Nature. I've been without Internet for the past 72 hours thanks to a storm on Wednesday afternoon. It's back up now that they have replaced the cables.

Tenny and anyone else: I would still like to do one tomorrow (i.e. Sunday, the 21st). Pretty much any point between noon and 9:00 p.m. (North Carolina's time) would work as of right now.

It's funny that they won't just put 'em underground. :monster:

My understanding is that they were, but the lightning fried them and blew up something down the street. Internet never went down this long except when someone forgot to pay the bill. :awesomonster:

Internet cables are all buried underground. It doesn't mean storms can't knock out the internet still.

I see a new podcast has been published on the front page.

Ryu, please remember to set a featured image in Wordpress whenever you publish a new article, otherwise the front page looks broken. Also, Pixel says that the podcast cuts off after 50 minutes (48:48 to be precise). Also also, we no longer use tags in the way you have done for the new podcast. You should only tag the games and other (relevant) media that are mentioned in the article/pod. I say relevant because it's not necessary to tag Pacific Rim, for example. I would have just tagged Final Fantasy X, Lightning Returns and Kingdom Hearts. Also also also, don't make your titles so long, because they end up wrapping onto four lines and breaking the front page layout. Thanks.

I tried setting this as the featured image, but it's not really big enough at the moment (it's 400px by 200px, but needs to be at least 500px by 250px). Pixel, do you have a larger version of the image for us to use?

Fangu, might it be worth setting a default featured image for the front page so this doesn't happen in future? There seems to be a plugin for just that purpose, though I don't know whether it would create any conflicts. If we end up using it, I'll create or find a generic image that can be used as the default for all post types.

General comment: I don't want to sound overly critical - all front page content is good for us - but where was the organisation here? I didn't see any mention of you recording it (apart from in the Pacific Rim thread, but only because I searched for it now - that's not where it belongs), there was no indication of when it would be published, and you spent over half the podcast talking about things which don't really belong on TLS. From the outside, it looks like you just recorded a conversation you were going to have on Skype anyway. Don't you think we can do better? :closedmonster: I'm reluctant to even share the podcast on our Facebook page until the full-length file has been uploaded at the very least.

Did he try opening it before it was fully uploaded? If you can confirm it, then something probably went wrong with the upload and I'll need to do it again.

When downloaded, it's just over 50 mins. On the app thingy it says 48 :/ looks like something went wrong with the upload

Well odd o_O. I checked the file I had downloaded, 1:05 in itunes. I've reuploaded / am reuploading it (same location), but when asked to overwrite, the target file was the same. Are you trying the regular downloaded version or the one downloaded from / via itunes?

...weird. Wait, i'm confused with the other one, the Case of Nanaki one. Hurf de durf. I don't have the original file for the podcast, I think.

Truth be told, it was a major difficulty even getting the four of us on at the same time, and there were a number of others I contacted who were simply unavailable. Lots of scheduling conflict.

As for the media discussed, there's only so much mileage you can get out of new outfits for Lightning Returns and what few other details had trickled out about other stuff. The San Diego Comic Con seemed a logical thing to discuss, as it was of interest to us and likely of interest to people who would be interested in Final Fantasy to begin with.

It's important to have an area of focus, but particularly when it comes to something like a podcast, you have to branch out into other stuff that's of interest to the same audience. I mean, look at the forum itself. There's discussion in the FF sections, but they're hardly the most active areas of the forum.
