i only saw it listed as 'advent children' so it might be just the original version (and if the us one had the original that seems likely)

I just checked it out and it's listed as 'FFVII: Advent Children (2005)' BUT it is actually the complete version, with only Japanese audio and English subtitles.

Pretty cool though! :D

Awesome that it's the complete version but idk if I could watch that film without the voices I'm used to.

Haha totally know what you mean it's kinda strange.

I've heard a lot of people say they prefer the Japanese voice actors though and I mean I really don't need an excuse to watch it so that's my night sorted :P

Everyone should take this opportunity to acclimatise themselves to the proper Japanese voices because I can't get through the English version without convulsing with dry vom :monster:

Legit though, I watched the Japanese version about fifty times before it was even released in English so I'll never be able to go back. I'm not a "dub vs. sub" nazi when it comes to anime and such, I believe in just watching what you're most comfortable with - but I hold the staunch opinion that the Japanese dub is far superior to the English dub and I don't think it's all down to my watching it with JP dub first. I find the English version absolutely embarrassing and awkward to watch, and I've never thought that about any other SE English dub when compared to the Japanese.

I definitely found it interesting to watch it in Japanese and see the difference between the sub translation and the dub translation. Think I might prefer Kadaj's Japanese voice actor as well, he really nails the crazy with his swinging between anger and laughter it's pretty cool :D

But I still like the English as well, they both have their own merits.
:monster:
I reckon it must be really difficult to be a voice actor doing a dub and having to fit all the emotions and everything into a certain space rather than just going for it like a normal actor?

Breaking News on that front:

The Sub translation on Netflix is different than the English subs with Japanese on the ACC Blu-Ray.
