Remake Would Take 40 Years

The battle system definitely needs an upgrade(get the nostalgia out of your ears fanboys), and so do the environments. FF7 has one of the most meager, and simplistic battle systems in the series. I literally had no issue blowing through the game the first time around, and it didn't take long to beat down some of the harder bosses(I still don't understand why SS was such a pussy at the end of the game). In order to be fully realized in 3d, it's gonna take a bit more elaboration on the cities and towns, now that we're not in super deformed land anymore.

That means that artists and level builders have to get the lead out of their asses and build more than some linear carnival ride(looking at you XIII).
