Hi :) Didn't know where to put this/sorry if it's already been posted somewhere in the forum already :puppy:

From the new Disney Movie Wreck it Ralph -

http://images.wikia.com/finalfantasy/images/d/d2/Wreck-it_Ralph_-_Aerith_Death_Reference.png

(credits for the wiki link goes to whoever posted it there but I saw another screenie link a while ago elsewhere as well and since this one came up I guess the movie's out now?~)

Kind of cool for FF/FF7/Aerith huh? :) Long live the flower girl :aeriball:

Nice! I know it's not a huge story, but it could go on the front page, if anyone wants to write something up. Here is one source that can be used in addition to the image from the Wiki.

Yeah I saw it a few weeks ago.

I don't mind writing it up - news has been really slow lately (all FF news really, we seemed to have a surge of VII stuff there for a while but it's kinda died down) but is it really worth its own post?

I mean I definitely think it should be archived somewhere or something, mentioned on a cameos page maybe, I dunno. If people think it should be a news item I don't mind doing it.

Vote or something?

I've been thinking about the viability of some weekly round-up articles for the front page, where we share a few small stories that aren't worthy of their own articles and link to the most active FF-related forum threads of the week. This kind of thing would be good in such a round-up. If we can find a couple more things for this week I'll put one together as a trial :)

Yeah, sounds like it could be a good idea. There are usually a few things I come across in my daily internet search travels. Recently Final Fantasy news has been all but dead aside from III on the Kindle. It's actually the most quiet I've ever seen it. Sadfeisu.

So why, out of all FFVII characters, did they choose to reference Aerith. She, along with Cloud, Sephiroth, and Tifa, is one of the most over refernced FFVII characters out there. We need moar references to Cid dammit!

I think you just answered your own question, dude.

"Aerith Lives" works in a way that "Galuf Lives" just wouldn't. Even gamers who aren't Final Fantasy fans will get the joke.

But Aerith doesn't live. Sephy kebab'd her. The real person who lives is Captain Basch fon Ronsenberg from Dalmasca, or, to quote Vaan, "Basch Lives!"

:glare: gimme a break. I barely looked at the right side of the image, and given the quick once over I gave it, it's not surprising I couldn't distinguish the words in that graffiti mess. Nyah.

It's okay. When I first looked at the image, I could only discern the word Aerith. I couldn't tell what it said under her name. It was when I looked at it a second time that I paid attention to the whole image, and noticed the graffiti on the right side said all your base are belong to us. Out of curiosity, is there any other FF references in the film? Perhaps a "You spoony bard!" or something like that?

Did anyone else notice the "All your base are belong to us" on the opposite side of the "Aerith lives"?

I did, :monster:. But then, I was into internet memes before they became mainstream.

Also, "Aerith Lives!1one" is liek totally graffiti rebellion. And off course there's probably half the fanbase that denies she even died. If only for the uncreepy kind of secks.

I love you guys.

I kinda love this reference. Makes me think that Aerith for instance; and the whole FFs along will never die or be forgotten. Nostalgia how awesome you are.

To be fair, I didn't know what it said, either. And I actually was trying to figure it out but couldn't tell. The writing isn't very legible. :P

That's a really cool little reference. I feel like it matches the sort of context the movie is set in! Back when these sorts of "secrets" were widespread and believed.

It goes beyond this.
Ralph says "Thank you Aerith! Thank you Aerith!" when he is trying to run into the tower, and just before he grabs hold of the FPS and says "When did video games become so violent and scary!"
. I don't think anyone else mentioned (noticed?) this, so I thought to mention. Spoiler tagged in case some don't wish to know what it is.
