Yep. V-VIII have been ported before though, with bonus content added too in the case of V and VI.
And I honestly wanna see a 3D remake of I-V(III and IV DS don't count as 3D remakes) before I see a 3D remake of VI. Or at least IV. And I don't care what you guys say, IV is so awesome they can remake it a million times for all I care.

How are the remakes of III and IV on DS not 3D?
Some would even argue that the first two FFs haven't been remade since they've never been in 3D, and only say they've been ported, despite the complete overhaul of all the original content.

I was a little sad that after the release for FF4 for the DS that 5 and 6 didn't follow. While the remake of 4 was far from perfect it was certainly playable. It also should huge improvement over the FF3 remake, which did terrible things to that fine game. Maybe the 3ds will get 5 and 6 eventually.
Also, I would still like a more straight up release of FF3, still 2d without all the other added elements, maybe just a slight graphic overhaul like FF1 and 2 get on a rather frequent basis.

One day I'll play the FF3 remake, because I can't be bothered backtracking to the original game.
I'm more interested in the worlds of the earlier games to be honest. Ever since I read that article TresDias wrote about FF8 and 3 being connected I've wanted to experience it.
One of my lecturers has the original FF3 set as his favorite game on his facebook.

I think FF3 is one of the strongest titles from the series. Yes, it has some frustrating grinding and artificial difficulty involved, but overall it seems to be a very underappreciated title

I agree. Just wish would get a "real" version of it, and not the heavily modified version we got on the DS. Not talking about the 3d, more talking about the story elements and such.

I've only ever played the NES original, but I have watched a walkthrough of the DS version. As far as the story goes, the DS version is far superior to me.
The plot is the same, mind you. But the characters actually matter as individuals now.
