Final Fantasy V for iOS!

I love that game, and I got a little flutter when it showed the montage of all the job outfits. But I just feel like there's something empty about the mobile ports, I don't know what it is.

I could try it if they don't make it a $16 game, for iOS games that's way overpriced, :monster:.

I still think this game needs a proper remake, but I'm liking the updated graphics on this port, the addition of the GBA jobs and Enuo should be interesting...pity I don't own an iPad or anything like that.

So they did up a platform in Shinjuku station in Tokyo with ads because of the V-shaped support pillars there. Pretty clever really, I wish they exhibited marketing sense over here:

They can still get blood out of a stone. Even if they half-ass the inevitable FFVI port I'll still buy it anyway.

I have a question about the Android version. Anyone with Chrome knows you can get to Google Play through chrome and see all the apps there. Can FFV be played in the browser? And if so how does it work? (i.e. can I use a controller?)

You can't play it in the browser; it's an Android app, not a webapp, and Google hasn't gone full crazy cross-platform when it comes to converging browsers and native. There may be Android emulators for PC that sorta decently render the game, but tbh, you're probably better off shelling out $100-$200 for a cheap but decent Android tablet.

Hm. Lame.

Honestly I wasn't even that interested until I noticed that they have new jobs, all of which look sweet. But I still have very little desire to play anything involved on my phone.

Yeah, phones are kinda too small for games like this, I think. Maybe if they made it all new. But knowing pretty much all phone games, ever, it'd be terribly dumbed down, 'free', and riddled with shitty microtransactions to make the game playable. [/jaded]

FFV works fine on the ipad though.

My problem is using touchscreen controls tbh. I like seeing the entire screen without my big thumbs getting in the way. I bought that FFIII port and played a bit of it, just couldn't really get into it. I need buttons. This is especially true for Sonic 1 and 2, jesus that shit is hard to do on touchscreen.

Honestly the only FF game that uses touchscreen in a way that isn't annoying is Theatrhythm.

I don't expect then to release any new games for PSP at this point, unfortunately, because I'd be all over that. The FFIV Complete overhaul was absolutely gorgeous and I'd love for V to get that treatment.

Although, it'd be even more preferable if they would just release them on PSN so I could play them on my TV (and they could do cross-play with Vita for the portable-types).
