I feel it's gone steadily downhill in recent years. The plot lines have become increasingly repetitive as characters have been resorting to repetitive behaviour in order to prolong a conflict that by all rights should have been resolved several seasons ago. The writing often defies belief; characters behave in ways in which one simply finds impossible to accept that people act in real life, and often find themselves having conversations that the viewer seems to remember them having had in almost the exact same words dozens of times already. Frankly, the story line should have been brought to a resolution long ago; recent seasons have simply been defiling the legacy of what was once great entertainment. I'm not going to go so far as to say it's a Simpsons-calibre dropoff, but there is only so much entertainment to be wrung from the love triangle, and I fear most of it has already been wrung out.
Its about a Norman Bate expy who is going to destroy the world with a big meteor. Also there is a blonde haired guy who has a identity crisis and has a beef with the villain for destroying his hometown. There is also a crucial character that dies at the end of disc one.

A mad scientist causes 90% of the problems and drama in the game.Said mad scientist is the father of the big bad and injected his child with the cells of a parastic alien.
A handsome, handworking, brave young head of a multinational corporation and his talented band of sharply-dressed corporate assassins find themselves thwarted in their attempts to explore new resources by a motley crew of terrorists who look as if they've just escaped from a circus. By the end, practically everyone turns out to have been wrong about almost everything - incuding you, if you think for one minute that young Mr President is really dead. You have to be a very, very good person to stay dead in this game.
