“Willow” TV Series

Disney/Lucasfilm has green lit a Willow series for Disney+ with Ron Howard and Warwick Davis set to return.

There was a book trilogy about Elora Danan that I read back in the day, iirc she becomes a powerful sorceress who fights dragons and shadow monsters. I don’t know if the show is going to follow this storyline, but if Davis is returning it would stand to reason Elora would have to be an adult by this point — maybe even Queen, if they kill off Madmartigan and Sorsha like they did in the books (since Kilmer and Walley aren’t mentioned, it’s likely they won’t be returning).

I’m beside myself with excitement. I loved Willow growing up, what a delightful romp of a film. Are y’all as excited as I am!?

I loved willow growing up also and still remember it fondly however my oppinions of warwick have greatly diminished over time. Probably moreso since he did an idiot abroad and acted like an entitled prick the entire time he was on the show.

Three episodes in, I won’t go into spoilers…

The show is… very modern. Doesn’t share the tone of the original at all. The soundtrack uses Enter Sandman at one point. Parts of it are great, the characters are multi-faceted and the relationships take centre-screen often, which is great. Feels like an RP-heavy D&D game, in a good way.
