I'm surprised a thread hasn't been made about this film yet. It will star active duty Navy Seals.

From what I've heard of the private screenings, the film is amazing. They even film several combat scenes in first person.

This has gimmick written all over it. No one should waste their time seeing this piece of shit.

Going with the herd on this one. This film is most likely going to be less blockbusting Call of Duty and more squeaky-fart-in-an-elevator Medal of Honor. There is no way that it is going to be able to capture the entertaining, over-the-top nature of the Modern Warfare franchise, which has becomes its biggest selling point (beyond multiplayer, obvs). Even if that is what its attempting to do, its going about presenting itself all one by trying to tow the 'realism' line for what is clearly going to be a team of vitriolic dudebro super-soldiers kicking Saddam/Ivan's ass all over the planet.

I also don't care for patriotism giving fistbumps to propoganda on film. It breeds lunacy like this:

Lol, I'm in this for the action, folks. Since it's starring actual Navy Seals, the acting will probably be terrible. And, almost every goddamn war film can be used as a tool of propaganda unless the film protests the war itself, which many have. So, that's a moot point. Although, I wouldn't be surprised if I see a desk with a clean cut Navy officer trying to recruit kids as they leave the theater after seeing the film.

I'd like to see it myself and make my own judgements on it? I'm not going to jump on the wagon because a few people here don't like it. Also, my father knows the head of security at the theater here, so I get to see movies for free.

And, The Hurt Locker was solid, imho. There's also Apocalypse Now, Inglorious Bastards, and Deer Hunter.

I love the gratuitous American military propaganda slash military arms display slash technology wank slash nausea-invoking nationality in this trailer / movie. No really, give me more.

At least Communist countries like Russia and China and Korea and stuff have proper military parades for things like this. The US just throws a handful of soldiers, hardware and probably budget to Hollywood.

.....This isn't propaganda. This is one guy and his production team's love letter to the military and the things they do and have done.

You guys really gotta cool it with the hyperbole. I'm sure it'll be entertaining from an action standpoint and checking out the tactics both the Seals and terrorists use, since this is based off of actual events melded with a fictitious storyline.

I still say it looks very Call of Duty though, simply because this is doing exactly what Call of Duty does. Blend real military tactics, weapons, and personnel types with an over the top plot about ridiculously competent terrorists that are borderline super villain.

I can't hate on this based off of what I've seen alone.
