After Sephiroth fell in the Lifestream

What happened to him? I know he spend the next years wandering around the lifestream learning stuff, but what exactly enabled him to do that?

Did he somehow fused with Jenova's head and that's why the planet doesn't dissolve him? Or could he always do that before because of the experiments and he's actually floating around in the lifestream with his physical body(which ends up in the North Crater)?

Well the Lifestream doesn't actually dissolve your body simply by your body being in it. As long as he was alive he would be okay in that regard. A normal person that got thrown in would be afflicted with Mako poisoning and that could very well kill them, but judging by all interactions with the stuff in FF7, it would appear you can breath in it. (From Cloud and Tifa being submerged for some time to Cloud and Zack (and other humans) being in tubes completely filled with it.

Sephiroth's strong will enabled him to actually digest the immense amount of information without it overwhelming his brain (Mako poisoning). I don't know how long he was wandering, and if he was wandering at all rather than simply drifting, before arriving in whatever little area of Lifestream he found himself that condensed and crystallized around him.

Sigbru, were you talking about the planet dissolving his body or his spirit? According to the Reunion Files (pg. 60), his body was dissolved, but he was able to reconstruct it because of his strong will.

JENOVA's head hasn't been said to have had anything to do with his regeneration, but pg. 212 of the FFVII Ultimania Omega guide did say that having the head had an effect on where Sephiroth held the Reunion.

Do we even know what happened to Jenova's head after he fell in? He doesn't have it with him when you find him. Of course Jenova Synthesis has a head so it must have been involved in the Reunion somewhere.

Pg. 204 of the Ultimania Omega said that the head was included in JENOVA-SYNTHESIS.

Yeah, but where was it? Was it hanging out down at the bottom of the crater while Sephiroth was locked in the mako stone? That is, after all, where he appeared to be sending all the Copies after he killed them.

Both actually. I didn't know for sure if he had died or not (I consider your body dissolving dying). But why didn't he 'lose' anything like he did when he lost some of his memories at the end of FF7? Did Cloud just killed him harder? =P
