It was set for an april release but now EA are saying it's going to be September. RTW want it to be flawless when released. Also no idea on the production cost but it'd have to be the most expensive mmo no doubt.

It's hard to hold it against developers when they hold releases off for so long because they want to make sure it's perfect -- but at the same time, you can't help but feel like they're dicking around with you. :P

I'm confident they're going to deliver something impressive, though.

But, yeah, total el-oh-el at the development cost.

I'd say WoW's been more expensive, but that's in total after X years, several expansions, and continuous running costs. Granted, it's also the most financially successful.

Indeed but I doubt they'd spent as much money as APB before the game was released. Since it's not in that list tres posted.

WoW has declined quite a bit. Records say that the userbase hasn't grown since 08, and many of their members never go past their free trial and stop at level 10.

This is true, actually - it's been stuck at 10-11 million or so for years. Note that the statistics about new members are very askew though, as those are mainly spambots that walk to the nearest city, go 'BUY WOW GOLD !!@#!@#!' and get banned (if that), and get abandoned after that. Those, and gold traders, farmers, and what-have-you.

Also, fuck that location damage whining.

Nothing irritates me more when I pump dozens of bullets into a guy and they he just smokes me with one shot and keeps trucking.

people think without location based damage there'd be no skill involved in playing the game. It may take the skill level down a little but I don't think it'd be much to get angry over as some of the APB forum members are.

I can understand their reasons though, but I'd prefer to actually play the game before making any conclusions. Still, no location-based damage is pushing the clock back ten years (or so, can't remember when it was first introduced)

They haven't ruled out location based damage either. If the players want it once the games been released then they said they will look into adding it to the game. I don't think it's a huge deal really.

I just got an email from APBE with a release date, pricing and payment model.
