Big fan/follower here. Last season was The Shit, though my team's showing was just plain shit. Hard time to be a Carolina Panthers guy. At least Christian McCaffrey did amazing things.

I got the NFL Game Pass last season, by the way. For $100, I could watch and rewatch any game all season long as soon as its live broadcast was over.

I think they have Game Pass up for free to anyone right now until May 31.

That's awesome! :) Yeah, with cam newton and Luke kuechly leaving and you guys starting over, I definitely understand. :(

I'm a dolphin fan and I'm excited! We went 5-4 at the end of 2019 and got better in free agency. I can not wait to see what we do in the draft. :D

Baltimore Ravens are my team :monster:

With Lamar Jackson's performances this last season, really thought we were going to blaze through to the super bowl. Alas, wasn't to be.

I've no idea what Baltimore are looking for in the Draft, though. I've only been properly following American football the past few years. The draft still confuses me :monster:

I'm a Cowboys fan. We really need defense, we also need to address the Center position in light of Travis Frederick's retirement, and we need to get that Dak Prescott contract taken care of.

So who would be your dream pick at 17?
I haven't even looked at this year's mock drafts, to be honest, but the last time the Cowboys had a 1st round pick (which was 2 years ago), I was wrong about my dream pick. I wanted Calvin Ridley (as the team had just released Dez Bryant and needed a Wide Receiver), but they took Leighton Vander Esch instead. At the time, I was all like "this is just like 98 when we passed up on Randy Moss and he whooped our asses every time since", but this time, I was wrong. Turns out Vander Esch was drafted due to well-documented durability concerns about Sean Lee, and should have won Defensive Rookie of the Year.

I was shocked at the CeeDee Lamb pick. I knew what their biggest needs were; Center (Travis Frederick retired), Defensive Back (Byron Jones left in free agency, and the Cowboys spent all of last year attempting to upgrade at Safety), and Edge Rusher (Robert Quinn left in free agency). Turns out the Lamb was the best player available, and they didn't anticipate him falling out of the Top 10, let alone to their spot at #17.

I like what the Panthers did. Their defense has sucked for a while now, so I'm very glad to see the focus here was on trying to fix that leaky ship. They can work on filling some holes in offense later.

Maybe within two (probably not) or three seasons we can look at another serious go at the playoffs.

iirc there's been several football (the other football) threads over the years, but they've been specific for certain cups (such as the World cup) or leagues (like Premier League). Related, I'm terribly sad there won't be a Eurocup this year, I've been excited about it since last spring :(

But eh, that's off topic :monster:

I was lucky and got tickets to the Divisional game in 2016 against Seattle, my seats were 20 rows up in the endzone where this happened.

The team feels far removed from that, especially with Luke and Cam leaving in the same year. Time will tell on Rhule obviously, but getting back to the 4-3 and not hitching the entire offense and defense to the health of its stars is sound strategy. They'll take their lumps, but Brady, Brees, and Ryan will age out quickly so I can see Carolina being competitive in 2-3 years.
