Anime Watch-A-Long

So I don't know if I've mentioned it here or not but I've been doing anime journals in the same vein as my Vidya Journals (for the FF Retrospective and other games I've played). I am very slowly tackling four series at once and am only in the early phases of the first batch, but here are my plans:

And that's all I've planned out so far and that may very well change. I know I want to rewatch Str.A.In (sokou no strain) at some point and I will also be watching Anime Movies interspersed throughout there such as Akira (I've already watched Perfect Blue and I might rewatch it.)

Gundam Wing

I acknowledge that this is by no means the best anime, but it will always have a special place in my heart.

Trigun, on the other hand, actually has a legitimate claim to the anime throne, so I look forward to watching both of these

Brotherhood and FMA 03 are indeed different. Brotherhood is more faithful to the manga while 03 diverged and did its own thing.

Elfen Lied didn't even get though all of its source material.

Rurouni Kenshin didn't either; the last couple arcs of the manga never got animated.

Which is part of the reason why I stick to the mange versions of a lot of popular anime... some of the story/characterization is different enough to effect the overall tone of the work. That and I can read manga a lot faster then I watch anime...

Also, before you get too far into Gundam Wing, I thought I'd let you in on this Gundam Wing Drinking Game.

Avec and I have actually played it a couple times (obviously substituting "drink" for every time it says "shots.") It is legitimately enjoyable, and even the way the rules are written are amusing:

If Quatre blows something up, 2 shots.

If it's a colony, 3 shots.

If it's Trowa, 4 shots.


If someone plays an instrument, 2 shots.

If it's Trowa playing Quatre's flute, 3 shots and a giggle.


If someone talks about space like it's a living thing, 2 shots.

If it's Zechs, 1 shot.

(Some of the early episodes are actually rather devoid of occasions to drink, so I added every time Zechs says "Tallgeese.")
