I realized I forgot to post this poll yesterday, so here it is today with XIII's as well.

Anyway, I like The Dalmasca Eastersand.

For those who don't know, Desperate Fight is the song that plays when you fight Gabranth, the Battle For Freedom is the final boss theme, Can't remember where Clash of Swords plays (King bomb? maybe, haven't played XII in a while), nor discord or respite. The rest it should be obvious where they play.
EDIT: I looked it up, and Clash of Swords indeed plays when you fight King Bomb, while Respite plays in the last two areas of Soren Cave Palace. Discord plays when you fight Vayne Novus.

I think Esper Battle is pretty awesome, hence it gets my vote. I like the final boss theme as well.

I think the reason it's had hardly any response is because, at least for me, I find the entire soundtrack completely forgettable. I'm not saying it isn't well composed, but there aren't any that I would choose to listen to regularly, like I do with other FF soundtracks.

Case in point, I remember liking one song while playing but it took me 10 minutes of YouTube searching to find out the name of it, even though I have the soundtrack on my computer.

So I voted for "Other", and here it is:

Eruyt Village is my favorite as well, though clash on the big bridge does come close :)

Theme of the Empire. I've always liked Rabanastre Downtown a lot, too. I really like FFXII's soundtrack as a whole, and Sakimoto's work in general, but it's more atmospheric than catchy, so it's harder for me to pick out a favorite song in particular.

Battle on the Big Bridge is technically a FFV song.
I know but it's like the main theme, each entry of the series has a way of doing it differently, and i liked the ffXII version. That's part of why eruyt wins out for me, because it's exclusive to the game.

Desperate Fight, you can feel Gabranth's hatred as you desperately try to defeat him once and for all.

Aside from that,"Boss battle" "FF Theme (FFXII Version)" and "The Battle for Freedom" are also my favorites.

I started playing Final Fantasy XII again yesterday. I fancy starting a new game, but before that, I decided to finish up the sidequests on my "master" game. Still got a few hunts left (I'm probably going to skip Yiazmat) and the last two hidden Espers. Anyway, although I think the game as a whole has an inferior soundtrack to most of its predecessors - Uematsu's involvement was minimal, so perhaps that was to be expected - it works well at providing an atmospheric background, and there are a couple of standout tracks. These are my favourites:

Lex's nomination, Eruyt Village, is another of my favourites.

The game's vocal song, Uematsu's sole contribution, isn't bad either. I think it actually sounds good in English, unlike Melodies of Life, for example, which was much nicer in its original Japanese.

I like Rabanastre. In a soundtrack that's mostly ambient, that's the one I find myself whistling, and enjoying while it plays. And fits the city very well.

And Eyes on Meis bad in every language :monster:

insert laughter here.

seriously, I'm quite sure there was something in the game that could've slightly resembled something musically interesting, but I really can't remember any themes from there. If I recall correctly, some of the older songs from other titles were used for reminiscencing purposes.

Remembering those endless hours I bitterly spent playing and finishing that "game", I probably couldn't even name half of the characters. I sold the game, which was probably the best thing I've ever made.
