Can we have new playable characters?

I'd be down to have them but I don't think they have any place in a remake. I'd like a detective like the one they originally slated as the protag of FF7 and have him gradually become disillusioned with the company he's working for the deeper he digs in his campaign to apprehend Avalanche. I'd give him a katana or something and a short fuse personality that's just as sympathetic as it is temperamental, maybe.

Perhaps a laid back silliness that's somewhat like Laguna's to contrast with the rest of the party, since we have Barret already. (who I already felt shared some characteristics with Cid)
