Carnosaur (& Other Shitty SyFy channell movies.)

The movie Carnosaur was on SyFy recently, and let's just say I wish I had the two hours that the film stole back. This is a thread for ranting on any shitty SyFy channel movie.

SyFy movies as a whole are just shitty as fuck, they don't even be deserved to be called B-rated flicks because their qualities are usually so poor. One of the ones that irritated me the most perhaps is that Ginger Snaps Back series or some shit.

Two and a half hours I will never, ever get back. it features:

Cliched pointless plots. A stereotypically bleak and bland atmosphere that's SUPPOSED to be "dark" and "creepy." Stupid characters that either lack common sense or don't even move the plot along.

My mom and I got a good laugh out of this one.

I lost all respect for "SyFy" when they changed their name. They've truly lost themselves. And now their fail is starting to infect Chiller. Chiller used to be awesome but now its starting to degenerate into a fucking mini-version of the "SyFy" channel.

Almost every, single, movie they make is made of such shit that it makes me wish that they'd seriously go out of business and just...go bankrupt. Their lack of quality should be punished.

And that's TWICE you've offended me Lawliet!! Ginger Snaps was awesome as fuck, and Ginger was hot, period. Sexiest werewolf ever. That wasn't a Sci Fi original movie either!

Carnosaur wasn't shitty.

It was Roger Corman produced.

It belongs in its own category entirely.

I doubt it's ever been on Syfy, but Poultrygeist is a head trip and a half.

And Ninja cheerleaders is so bad it's hilarious, but it's so friendly and lacking in subterfuge you have to love it.

Carnosaur WAS shitty, all of the characters were shitty excluding Diane Ladd. Dinosaurs were shitty, the movie was very cheap, all around trying to cash-in on Jurassic Park.

Not everything Roger Corman touches is B-Movie Gold.

No it sucked monkey balls. Ginger wasn't smexy. Werewolves aren't smexy vampires are. I'm sorry but anything that turns into an anthropomorphic carnivorous rage-filled wolf is NOT smexy. Vampires that can seduce you and bite you and STILL be hot (i.e.: Alucard ) is smexy.

Unoriginal plotlines and overdone atmospheres that lose its originally intended effect screws up a movie. Shitty bland dialogue screws up a movie. So like yeah it's a shitty uninspiring, bland movie that puts your mind on autopilot for a good two and a half hours. There's that and the predictable ending which ruined it greatly for me.

I'll agree with you on that at least, Ceras is pretty hot but I've always found Hellsing, herself, to be pretty smexy. Maybe it's cause she's sort of like my long-lost fictional, older, European cousin.

Yes, and when he makes a stinker, it's a stinker in a realm all its own. Roger Corman's fertiziler pit. Corman's shit doesn't just stink, it stinks in a way that makes other shit want to leave.

And that is why it is in a category all its own.

@topic, the only science fiction on TV that has worked for me so far is Star Trek and Stargate, and the latter seems to be largely filler and can be pretty lame. They should make more movies out of classic books by what's-his-face and whatnot, and stick close to the book instead of making it a bollox action flick like they did with Starship Troopers (and the whole series based on that). The book wasn't an action flick, it was a political essay with the whole war and aliens thing playing only a minor part overall. That, and it pretty much invented powersuits and such.
