Quite annoyed by this actually.

I really enjoyed watching the original show. It came at just the right time and really pushed the sisterhood angle with a strong female cast, but this so called 'reboot' sounds awful and unwelcome. Even more mind-boggling is that all of the original cast have stated time and time again that they would be open to a proper revival.

Set in the 70s, this new show will star new characters and have no actual discerning connection to the original. So why is it called Charmed? Who knows. Maybe they will ultimately try and force some kind of connection at some point, but this is just something that fans did not want at all.

Brand recognition. It'll most likely get cancelled after a season or something, like most of these half assed reboots

Edit: thinking about it, once this fails, maybe Netflix will be able to snap up the rights and make a continuation with the original cast, like they love to do with canceled shows with a big fanbase.

It's irritating because I liked the original too. The original cast members aren't happy about it anyway, going by their twitter.

They either should have filmed a continuation, or waited a lot longer to do a proper reboot.

OK so we don't have a general Charmed thread (why would we tbf) but the blu ray of the original season 1 is releasing on November 12th:

I'm 100% getting it. CBS have apparently confirmed that the original theme song is in there but that some other music is changed :/
