I figured Toshiro had something up his sleeve, but I'm not at all convinced he can take Halibel. Without some serious help he's still gonna get pwned, or realistically, he should. I wanna see Yamamoto face off with Aizen, though I have doubts that the battle will play out that way. Also, still waiting for the fight between Kyouraku and the #1 Espada to get interesting. I'd say he has a chance considering he's one of the most tenured captains next to Ukitake, trained by Yamamoto, and also alongside Ukitake, said to be one of the most powerful captains in the Gotei 13. He may be able to hold his own.
The anime is indeed shit. I finally gave up on it completely after they interrupted the Arrancar arc a second time so that Ichigo could go back to Karakura to babysit that stuck up bipolar princess bitch Lurichiyo whose very voice irritates the shit out of me. Not even the rest of the canon plot is worth enduring that bullshit. Stick to the manga. I believe the anime is currently on track however. The last filler arc was minor and they've now moved onto the
flashback arc where they show events a century before the current timeline: the Vizard as Gotei 13 captains, Aizen's initial betrayal, Urahara's exile, etc.

Good fights ain't good if you lack the fighting prowess to combat said opponent. Zaraki was more than qualified to outmatch Nnoitra despite carrying a single Zanpa. But this Soifon... GOD!
