I was thinking since there hasn't been a thread dedicated to Disney so I am starting one.I mean from the looks of things a lot of people on here are big Disney fans. This thread can be about anything Disney from movies, television shows, theme parks, comics, etc.Just anything Disney related can be discussed here.

I actually just watched the Hunchback of Notre Dame (having never seen it previously) and I have to say, it really lived up to all my expectations.

I say for a kid's movie it doesn't mess around with deep topics like prejudice, religious self righteousness, and abuse of power by authority.I can say Frollo has got to be one of Disney's most vile and evil villains.I like that he is a normal human but at the same time he can be more scarier than any witch or monster. The reason is that there people out there like Frollo throughout history and there will continue be more.

The Disney version of the Hunchback of Notre Dame while very much lighter than the original version is still the most dark Disney animated movie by far, Frollo is a big reason why. Also he's voiced by Megabyte which is awesome.

Yeah,R.I.P. Tony Jay who I can say made much of our childhoods voicing the most memorable villains.

Tony Jay's really sadden me, growing up Reboot was one of my favorite shows (still is) and he was fantastic as Megabyte. I was dying for Reboot to come back but with his death it seems very unlikely. :(

A movie from the Renaissance era that hasn't aged well is The Little Mermaid, the plot is incredibly sexist.

I would politely disagree from a certain viewpoint about it being sexist.

Pretty sure they had sex during Can You Feel the Love Tonight.

Ursula's opening monologue is all about how she used to live in the Palace. With the lipstick routine etc it's heavily implied that she is Triton's ex-wife.

But even if she was his ex-wife it doesn't necessarily mean that she is Ariel's mother. Would actually make more sense too, as she would probably be more likely to sabotage the happiness of the daughter of the next wife than her own. Not that it's out of the question though.

People dismiss Disney as just kiddy stuff but if you watch any movie there has bound to be some disturbing or scary material.I mean Walt Disney didn't want his company to just be known as something for kids he actually wanted to entertain everyone.I mean look at Pinnochio and see how scary it sometimes can get especially that Coachman. The sad fact is that he never is brought to justice for his crimes.

I can say the best thing about Disney is its villains from the whimsical to the really disrurbing and creepy. When Disney makes a villain he or she will be laughable that you can't help but love them, oozing extreme coolness,or third living embodiments of evil that you want to see stopped.

I can say one thing the Aladdin sequels are probably one of the few Disney sequels that were good.Especially the Aladdin animated tv series which I think was very good in my opinion and had a lot of memorable characters.I especially liked Sadira and Mozenrath in the series.

I loved that show. Dan Castenella did a fine job in Robin Williams' place. Can't say I liked the movie sequels though... Maybe it was just because they were movies. If they had been four-part episodes they would have been more palletable.

Agreed. Although I can't even say that I didn't so much dislike the movie sequels as much as I just don't remember them.

@Mermaid being sexist: I don't remember it being sexist in any way, it's just another sugar-coated fairy tale. In the original story, the Mermaid didn't get the prince, and returned to the sea after recovering her voice. The moral of the story was something like: "Do not mingle with those who are not the same as you." Or something like that. Of course I could be wrong :p

Also, I always had the theory that Ursula was the court's magician before being expelled.
