Dissidia Questions

Hey everyone, I have question about the Omnislash Version 5 Cloud gets...how do you use it? I already have the attack equipped but I have no idea what buttons to press. I'll take a picture if I need to, lol. Also, when do you get Finishing Touch and how do you use it? Thanks. :)

P.S. This thread was made in general for anyone else who has any questions about Dissidia.

Okay. When you do Slash Blow in the air, before you do the last hit of the combo, hit square. You should then go into the HP attack. That's how all Brv to HP attacks work. Do the Brv combo, but before hitting the final button, hit square.

Finishing Touch is learned when you get enough AP to master Sonic Blade.

I love using Cloud's Omnislash Ver. 5.

Now if only there were alternate EX-Bursts and you could use Ver. 6, that'd be even better. :awesome:

OK, this is more of a story question than a gameplay question, but...

...what the hell happened to Ultimecia's speech impediment?

Also, if anyone has any good strategies for beating Golbez (esp. using Zidane)... I'd appreciate it.

She never had one. That was an addition courtesy of the US localization. She spoke in a refined, and sophisticated manner in Japanese. Not like a knock off of Natasha from Rocky and Bullwinkle.

Kill him, before he kills you. I'm serious. That's the best I can go. Golbez is one of those really good characters just off the bat due to his attacks. They have quick start up, and they're just fully block because they aren't just one strike. You may block his slash from his hand, but you could still get hit with the lasers as he's stumbling. So its also hard to counter some of his magic cause it could stun you or at the very least hit you from all sides.

The best thing to do is take advantage of Zidane's amazing speed and air game and look for openings after he attacks or dodges. There are moments where after an attack or dodge he can't move so if you're fast, you can hit him.

Or, stay away from him, collect all the EX cores and when you have a full ex bar go in to fight and if you get caught in his annoying Brv to HP combo where he finishes you off with Cosmic Ray, Ex cancel out of it, and just hit him with free energy. Hopefully that'll kill him if he's not too high enough level, otherwise just go in for the free critical hits and break him.

He can be hard but you just have to play conservatively and not go in rushing, cause thats what the fucker wants. :monster:

I see. Makes sense. It always struck me as a bit odd in the first place that she had one...

I see. Thanks for the advice. ^_^ I managed to see this post shortly after I logged off, so I was able to put it into practice over the weekend. It worked.

Hell, I'm now able to beat him with the Onion Knight. XD

Another question: on the Destiny Oddessy stories, how do you get 100%? I've fought all the battle pieces, and opened all the chests (I think) but I only have 98%. Do I have to use all potions and elixers, too?

Have you gotten all of the Stage Bonuses? I believe you even have to get the gil. Not 100% sure.

In regards to Golbez(I agree completely with Mako Eyes), most of his attacks can be dodged, with Genesis Rock (imo, his most deadly move...) simply fall below him, or jump ahead of him, if you get lucky enough to be in one of the holes around the four rocks, rush in and beat the crap out of him with a BRV>HP combo.

He's not a person you can attack head on and expect to win. If possible, try to get him into a chase sequence(If you feel comfortable doing so). Again, as Mako said, with his Cosmic Ray attack, try and EX cancel it. Also, when he uses Nightglow, the move stays in the same spot and he stands there while it's still present, so use that opportunity to punish him.

Ah, no. Not all the bonuses. I have trouble with getting full DP Destiny Points on a level - I have trouble getting critical hits within the ten second time limit...

Totally agree about Genesis Rock - I have to use the Ex-Burst to escpae from that, or sit and suffer.

So how do you get 100% on a story mode?
Do you just have to get all of the bonuses?

Because some of them are just stupid, ho am I suposed to get a critical hit in 10 seconds when my standard attack kills them in 3 seconds. >.<

Some abilities increase a chance of a critical, like sneak attack. I guess.

Or they are doing it to be a pain in the ass.

Hey, I remember you from ACF... Nice to see you again. ^_^

I have that same problem. One way is if you equip Cactaur as your summon and unleash it immediately - this should put your opponent's bravery to zero. Then spam with bravery attacks - I've found most of the time that once their bravery is broken, any further bravery attacks are critical. Although, that could just be Zidane...

Actually, its when *your* bravery is zero or rising to its base value that the critical hit chance goes up. Breaking your opponent doesn't do anything.

To actually get a good chance of dealing a critical hit, either get into EX Mode, block an opponents strike and retaliate with your own, or equip an ability like "First Strike" or "Riposte" that boosts the critical hit rate. Breaking them doesn't really help.

O_O

...This further reinforces my opinion there's something wrong with my copy. I'm being honest, when I break my opponent's bravery, further bravery attacks come up as critical hits. And I have none of the other abilities that boost critical hits equipped.

Having said that, the game actually crashed yesterday - I believe it's due to how broken a Shade Impulse Bartz manikin was. -_-

Some of those shade impulse battles really are absolutely infuriating...I can't remember exactly who I was fighting the one day with Terra (might have been Terra), I came so close to throwing my PSP through a window so many times....

Why are the manikins ten levels (or higher!!) more than the bosses there? And this is BEFORE we unlock the ultimate battle pieces...

I haven't attempted getting any further on Shade Impulse, instead completing the Destiny Odessey chapters I hadn't before... and getting 100% in the ones I have finished. I just have to finish Bartz's chapter, then DO:I, and they've all been done.

Oh: and how do you get attacks that have the wall rush effect to take effect within 10 secs? Cos, I always find that the enemies will stand in the middle of the stage, as far from any walls as possible. Or run away. Which seems to be very popular...

I engage them in chase sequences usually and just smack them down into the ground (counts as "wall" rush as well).

If I trade in trade in the Buster Sword (along with the Gigas Bones and Gale Shards...and I don't have enough of either as of yet) for the Force Stealer, is there anyway to get the Buster Sword back?

Nope. But its worth it. Think of it as "upgrading" the Buster Sword.

There is a...slight chance, that if you do battle with a level 1 Cloud in Quick Battle he might have it. But yeah, there's no guarantee of that happening, let alone you winning it from him.

Goddamnit now I know I'm gonna drive myself bonkers fighting level 1 Cloud over and over again till I get enough Buster Swords... >_>;

Is there a faster way of getting more AP other than resetting my PSP's clock constantly so that I stay in Bonus Day all the time?
