Well, I don't think Ever Crisis is as extensive as everyone thinks, given it's an episodic gacha. To make an academic comparison, Ever Crisis would be the Cliff Notes of Crisis Core. Not a full retelling that extensively goes in-depth with everything within the title.

Nomura already said that he wouldn't consider Ever Crisis a substitute to the Compilation and they still would want to re-release the Compilation titles as a way for everyone to play them originally. I think that's why they'd want to highlight re-releasing them on PS Plus or something else.

I'd trade in the entire compilation for a re-release of War of the Lions on PS Plus :monster:

Wouldn't mind having easier access to Dirge of Cerberus again though. Was fun for all its flaws and arse-gravy story :monster:

I also think this throws out the whole "Zack will be an alternate universe side story" speculation. He will most likely be a part of the main story proper.

Funny enough, while you may be right about Zack having a bigger role, I think it could as well indicate that his role will remain delimited to the OG's story (aka he can't really interact with the main plot before at least Cloud gets back his memories in the Lifestream). Narratively, releasing CC again to the masses mean that this guy you barely saw in Remake, well... here is his story. Learn to care about him, to want to know what's happening on his side of the story, the mystery surrounding him. It also strengthen the idea of death that he and Aerith represent versus life that Cloud and Tifa represent. The heroes and the normal people who become heroes.

There's honestly a lot of good and interesting tropes, narratively, that they can use even if they delimit Zack's role very tightly, and even more if people know him. So they'll want new players to know him. This is the best way.

I take your point, but I don't think this is going in that direction. Thats not to say either will survive remake, but I think we are looking at quite expanded roles.

I'd also point out that Yuffie is getting a new story and I really wouldn't be surprised if Yuffie and Zacks stories are integrated in Remake if they're building both off of Compilation stuff.

I said I wasn't really interested in VIIR before launch but ended up buying it on launch day, and that was kinda him

I expected a hd port, not a full remake. It looks so good, I hope there's more content this time around.

Interesting though, it sounded like Genesis had the same VA.

Part 2 is unsurprisngly a PS5 exclusive.

But knowing that it's 3 parts, and that part 2 is next winter, is huge.
