Fan commentary Track on ACC

So, when do we wanna get around to doing this? We need to find a time we can all get online together and watch the movie so our commentary synchs up.

As of last check we had

- Alex (I believe)

Now, seven people's a lot for a commentary, but hey, might as well try and hammer down a time to do this thing.

Id recommend doing a test run of something like last order or case of denzel, just to iron out any problems.

Everyone should have a clean track, so listen to the film and eachother in headphones.

I was planning on taking part and editting this and the lets play thing, but i seem to have been ignored lol. Im not sure how much free time I'll have anyway. Ive already started recording a playthrough if anyone is still interested in that. Was going to wait until i had time off before bring it back up.

Yeah, it wouldnt be as bad as with a podcast, since everything is in realtime running with the movie, but I can imagine with so many people, it could get messy, with people talking over eachother and the lag.

One option could be the LOTR route of having a few groups commentating separately, then editting the best bits to create a cohesive commentary with no dead air.

That's a cool idea...but how nightmarish is that to edit?

It would definitely be hell with 7 people. 3 or 4 per track would be ideal. The lag would mean people would be talking while another person starts, then they stall when they hear the other person. Imagine that with 7 people, and having to stitch together that conversation. Its great if everyone is in the same room. That would require very little editting if any.

Well why not cut down the commentators? I can do it, but I would also drop out if that makes it easier.

Having a few separate sessions would fix this problem, since it would mean less editting per conversation. Then just stitch together parts to make the commentary. So everyone who wants to can participate

Sorry Pix, it wasn't my intention to leave you out, I guess I just missed your 'yay' when I looked over the old thread to see who wanted in. I do approve of the idea of a few smaller streams edited into one.
I'll 'head' one, you can 'head' the other, that gives us, about four people per, which is a damn sight more reasonable. So, who wants on my half and who wants on Pix's?

I dont think I'll be able to at the moment. I was hoping to get some time off for this kinda stuff, but i just had someone walk out on me, so im stuck doing nightshift myself every night. Hopefully ill get something sorted out soon, but i'll look forward to listening to it.

Oh, btw, does anyone have a good reading voice? We could have audiobooks of things like Maiden who travels the planet, etc. Those would be lovely to have, especially for lazy arses like me who couldnt be arsed reading the novels.

Audio books of the translations aren't a terrible idea. I suppose I could do that. I have the setup to do it well enough.

So, we've got a gag group going, and if you need a forth I can be in that, but we should also have a serious one going, so who wants that?

I know the audiobooks are off and running, but lets not drop this. Are we still splitting up groups?

Let's get a serious one down. Who still is interested in participating? 4 people or so is probably the optimal number.
I also like the idea of maybe doing a dry run with Last Order as its shorter and more manageable. It will give us a chance to iron out any problems if people have too much to say or not enough, etc.
