The title doesn't actually faithfully reflects the contents within, I'm just a really big fan of alliteration.

Anyway, je fais de l'art and recently I believe I've made a semi-successful attempt at drawing monolids. Yay!

He started out as fanart for Sasaki Kojirō of Takehiko Inoue's Vagabond series, but then the hair. I am derping so hard with the hair. And also, I don't think I have his expression quite right, for Kojirō always looks so easy going in the manga (except for that one arc).

I might add a monkey because I'm pretty sure Kojirō has a monkey in the novel (that the manga's based on).

Yaaaay he has hair and I think I'm happy with it so far? Let me sleep on it so I can be disgusted when I wake up...

Tried to do a little something with the kimono he's wearing. Both the Kojirō in the manga and the original novel were known for being eccentrics with a taste for flashy kimonos.

Lol, I almost put a black bindi in the centre of his forehead so that I could call this piece, "Tseng in a Samurai AU " but then I thought, "Naaaaaaaaaaah." This isn't even how I picture Tseng in my head anyhow. Oooh, that could be my next project...

Weeks ago, I watched Baraka with my

and we had this lovely conversation afterwards about religions from across the world and how the very act of prayer/worship in and of itself can actually be a really beautiful thing even if some religious scripture can prove to be problematic at times. Then I had a daydream about how Tseng came to have a bindi on his forehead and it was basically a scenario where he was having this intense sort of religious experience that lead to him bearing said bindi. What you see below is the beginnings of that attempt to capture that scene where he first marks himself with the bindi.

It's cut off at an awkward sort of angle because the hand running through his hair is truly tragic rn and I'm just not ready for anyone to see that lmao.

My model for Tseng is the (in my modest opinion) gorgeous

Indeed, I can't find it right this second, but there's a picture floating around on the internet where Jin bears a similar expression to Tseng here. The sort of post religious/post orgy kind of face. I'm pretty sure it was what had me daydreaming. *shrugs*

Progress for the day. Night? Morning? Meh.

I was hella lazy with the skin colouring and drew the hand onto the same layer as the chest and that bit me in the ass later because when I would adjust/warp the chest, whelp, the hand would move, too. Just as well, I suppose. I think it needs redrawing anyway. The whole left arm in general is just lmfao. But that's for later.

I think I like how this is coming about! I may or may not add a shirt though, hmmm.

Shout out to my lovely cousin who I consulted with over this project because she is one of the most talented artists I've ever had the honour of knowing and she just rocks and is super inspiring and sigh. Adore her.

Anyways. Next FFVII art project is going to involve Tifa and a headcanon I have with her.

Mwuahaha no, actually! These are bootlegged Photoshop brushes designed to mimic sai. Got'em off deviantart some time ago... They're my absolute fave. <3 :o

Years ago, a classmate of mine gave me the first eight novels of the Anita Blake series to read and I HAD NO IDEA NOR ANY WARNING THAT THEY WERE EROTICA SO WHEN I GOT TO THE RAUNCHY SCENES I WAS LIKE "WHAT IS THIS?" AND I WAS LIKE IDK 13 WHEN THIS HAPPENED.

Anyway, my Anita always had green eyes and wavy hair for whatever reason. Even when I would read about her "so-dark-they-look-black" eyes and curly hair I'd be like, "Nah, book, you wrong." and pictured her my way.

I doodled that same Anita as I was taking a break from drawing chibis. Drawn on one layer with four different colours (black, green, dark red, and white). Her hair was also considerably shorter in my head than in the way it was described in the books. I just added length for the pic.

Dunno why I was so hung up on the green eyes. Was it self hate?? idk.

I remember always having some sort of period drama or wuxia film on in the house. I veered away from them as I grew older but I've recently got back into them and just ugh! Nostalgia man! The piece I'm currently reworking on because the other, more completed version just upped and VANISHED WTF??? is inspired by those dramas.

I tried drawing my idea of Flare's DnD character a la FFVIII character portraits magig (but not really bc lazy)

and my own

I was practising 'cuz I was thinking, "I should make these for all the dnd people who are interested."

I'm a glutton for punishment like that.

Making these pictures have been extremely therapeutic. Idk what it is about them in particular...but it's been helping my mood a ton! This art style is a bit more convoluted but I guess that's what makes it soothing to do.
