So since this game literally let's you take photos with Prompto I think having a dedicated "Snapshot" thread would be a good idea. Obviously tag with spoilers and try to include a description and separate spoiler if there is some "spoilery" content.

What's the easiest way to get shit off of the PS4 and onto your computerer?

Could someone explain to me how people are able to make Noctis strike these poses? They can't be default animations! Is some Kinect-type stuff going on here?

As far as I know, they just show up in Prompto's pictures at the end of the day. Some are actual screenshots, others are pictures that supposedly happened.

Who has two thumbs and just supplanted Final Fantasy XIII as the next-gen Final Fantasy. THIS GUY.


@Snapshot Tips:

1. Look for scenic vistas, you'll usually see a camera icon and Prompto will take a picture. It stays around at various times of day so you can choose your lighting.

2. Under one of the config menu options you can choose the frequency with which Prompto uses "Filters" but you can't manually apply them yourself.

3. There is an Ascension ability you can learn to command Prompto to take a photo mid battle.

4. Visiting the same place different day = different pictures of the same place.


Saving Screenshots:

1. At the end of each day select the photos you like with the Square button (PS4, presumably the X button on XBOX)

2. Go to the photo album from the main menu (Touch Pad Button)

3. Pull each picture up to full screen and use the PS4 Share button to take a snapshot of the snapshot

4. Repeat until you have them all

5. Upload en masse to your social media of choice.

6. Save to your computer from there.

I still hope they'll implement a proper photo mode for the player in a later patch.

That, and better cutscene / conversation animations, actual car physics instead of the thing sliding across the surface, lip sync, graphics, combat system...

Update:

Well okay, wish granted apparently. Thanks to an update you can now share directly to your social media of choice.

Views are also no longer full-screen so doing the method I prescribe above creates a less than stellar quality picture.

Why would they do that? To make sure they can add their copyright watermark ofc. But still it's much easier to share now.

I've already saved about 115 of Prompto's photos to my in-game album, so I'll share a bunch here when I'm finished work tomorrow. I'm going to have to start deleting them because you only get to keep 150 ;-;

I think it goes without saying but combat shots are the most visually stunning IMHO. Not that some of the pose locations can't be great themselves. Also bearing in mind that I technically have no legal right to any of these if anybody wants to use these for any FFXV articles you have me blessing lol.

Btw, for transferring pics, I tended to have them saved on the Picture Gallery on the PS4, and then pass them on to a PC via USB drives (I'm one of those odd ones who doesn't do that facebook shit). I haven't done that with Prompto's pics yet (I've been able to play only one hour so far) but can't see why that wouldn't be doable.

Facebook is known to be the place where image quality goes to die (dunno if they still have that "high quality" option or if it's even available when uploading from the PS4) so if that matters to you, USB is probably the way to go.
