It contains all of the ripped sound effects, including empty/blank sounds that are included in the game. (so don't complain about empty sound files :P) Example sounds: Potion cure, sword attack, gun attack, death of enemy, weird magical explosions, etc. You may want to do as I did and put some of these as your mobile phone ringtones ;)

My spider sense is tingling. Someone else will have to try these download links first and make sure that there is nothing sneaky going on here.
Edit: I had a friend try it out and the files appear to be clean. Thanks a lot! I've been wanting the sound effects for a very long time.

Did you rip it from the PSX version or the PC? What software did you use? Are you a skilled programmer?
I am looking for someone who knows R3000 Assembly and can rip the PSF music from the field files (and other game files, for that matter). It is supposed to be a very complicated process but we need this to confirm if we have indeed found all the musical tracks that exists in the game. The music from the PC version has been ripped but not from the PSX releases.

Well I did want to ask them if they had ripped the sounds from Crisis Core... I've been dying to have the little blip for "mail received" as my text message ringtone. <.<

I downloaded mp3s of all the FF7 sound effects a few years ago, still have 'em if anyone wants them. I've got the buster sword cut as my text ringtone, but other than that they're pretty useless to me.

I just accidentally clicked "play", rather than "enqueue", on all 732 of those sound files in Windows Explorer. That made Winamp play about half a second of each one before skipping to the next.

Result: awesome FFVII beatbox! :D

Final Fantasy VII Sound Effects

Not sure if I'm stepping on anybody's toes here, or beating a dead horse on this one. I have been searching for Final Fantasy 7 sound effects for weeks on the internet, & youtube. I even tried to dload the pc game on piratebay and I still can't find all of the sound effects. I read forums to links that don't exist anymore. It's like its the holy grail or something. I'm looking for sound effects and not the soundtracks. To give you an idea of what I'm looking for. Take the bone yard village area for example. After you place the characters and detonate the explosion it makes a scanning noise during the process. I'm looking for sound effects like that. Any help would be appreciated!
