There are rumors that Versus will be rebranded as Final Fantasy XV.
I guess that would at least ensure they're going to finish it. And it certainly didn't look like it had anything in common with XIII anyway.

Not to mention stupid. FFXIII Versus was supposed to follow the same concepts of FFXIII and FF Type-0. Namely the whole crystal, fal'cie, Focus, etc etc.
It'd be rather sad if their whole Fabulla Nova Crystallis mythology series just shattered because they couldn't get their ass in gear in terms of releasing them in reasonable intervals.

Yeah, that's all it was looking to share, the same kind of concepts. Not actually taking place on Pulse by a long differential of time like what might have been interesting to see. If all it's going to share are concepts than it might as well be 15 because similar concepts and messages are all that connect entries in the FF series to begin with.

Not surprising in the slightest, but baffling nonetheless. Square Enix seem to be worried about their share price, but they have now chosen not to produce two games which would be guaranteed to sell very strongly and bring in lots of money for them, namely Versus XIII and a VII remake.
