Games you like to play around Christmas time

A slightly too-late thread, but here goes anyway.

Maybe it is because the games were originally released around Christmas time, or they hold a certain magic that feels appropriate to the atmosphere of the season, or maybe it is a Christmas game outright. What game do you like to play, especially, around this time of year?

To me it's Majora's Mask. While not Christmas-themed, the atmosphere of mystery and magic, coupled with the nostalgia of first playing it during the season, makes it THE Christmas game for me.

To compare, I always play Super Castlevania IV when Halloween approaches. :P

Abortedj, The Offender, Abortedjesus, Testicules,
Duke Nukem 3d: Nuclear Winter. It is a bit silly, but I got to play it around this time of year.

I also usually do a run through of Super Mario World. Not sure why on this one, just feel compelled to play it in December.

Any Mario game. Ive always received Mario game at Christmas. The opening of Super Mario Allstars always puts me back to when I was 9, hooking up my brand new SNES to a tiny tv in the back room of my grandparents house.

Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex be ause of all the awesome snow levels.

I also wish I still had my original PSOne demo disk because I would play the hell outta that. That thing was our playstation game before we could afford a real one,

I'll probably always associate Twilight Princess with Christmas time, since that's when I first got to play it and I was so unbelievably hyped for it; Snowpeak Ruins is also a great wintry dungeon. I tend to play A Link to the Past sometime around December (or during the winter in general), too, but it doesn't really make me think of Christmas specifically.

Always find myself playing some old 4x games. Civ 2, Master of Orion 1 and 2. I think the waring factions remind me of this, the most dysfunctional time of the year.

For some reason the snow in Lords of Shadow feels very Christmasy.

Meh~ Only League of Legends. Every Christmas they have a feature called Snowdown to commemorate it.

If board games are included, Monopoly. I don't have any particular video games that I like to play at Christmas, usually because I spend all my time with family and don't get the chance.

I always used to play Worms Armageddon on New Year's Eve when I was a kid, but I haven't done so in many years now. I'm always too busy partying :)

When I first saw this thread I didn't have an answer. But since today is Christmas, Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars. I actually play it quite frequently 2player, but since my brother has left home we never play 4player, and that is inevitably the game we play.

Around the Christmas time I don't play anything special. I reckon in the past we played more 4 player co-op games around this time but not anymore. And as much as I'd love to play games like Worms Armageddon, TimeSplitters, and the other splitscreen/multi-player games from when we were younger (because they were good then and still are, not because nostalgia) no one else seems to want to. They're all boring now!

I seem to get all nostalgic around this time and play those snes/ mega drive games from childhoods, like Sonic, Megaman X and the like.

PlayStation games like CTR, Spyro 1, and Castlevania too.

I didn't think I had any until I read this post, and yes, all of that.

I got a Playstation in 1995 and I had this game called Tunnel B1 which was just ridiculously hard and weird. But I spent most of my time that first day playing a demo with some sort of T-Rex type thing on it and a demo of tomb raider.

Then two years later I got Crash 2 for Christmas and spent several cold days locked up in my room just playing it. Nostalgia hit me hard there.

Although the games I play around Christmas tend to be those I don't have time to play during uni term time (as has been the case for the past 4 years at least). Such as Dragon Age, Mass Effect, KH, FF (the newer ones that is, the older ones are far more speed-runnable) etc.
