Gelnika: Tifa Vs. Rude = Forfeit?

I'd NEVER heard of this, until I stumbled across it digging through *WARNING* TVTropes - but if it's the case, it's pretty awesome given the fact that he has a crush on her.

Interestingly, Rude will still not attack Tifa. He'll only attack her if she's the last party member standing and even then he'll attack her only 2 out of 3 times. Rude will never use attack magic on Tifa. Sucks to be in love, Rude! Now kick his butt, Tifa!

Can anyone confirm this?

Yeah, this is true.

I've never tried it before myself, but I remember reading about that years ago.

I knew that was true in Gongaga, so it does make sense, but I don't think I ever knew for certain that it still happened in the Gelnika.
I assume its also true in Rocket Town and Midgar as well?

I'm pretty sure it's true for every battle that involves Rude. I know it is in the tunnels under Midgar.
