Hellsing Ultimate

I didn't see a thread for this so if there is one, link me to it.

So if any of you are fans of Hellsing, let's get a discussion going. I'm especially interested in your thoughts on OVA X, since it was released in Japan not too long ago.

These days I haven't kept up with anime or television shows both for work and school purposes and because nothing has really interested me. But I've read every volume of the Hellsing manga and I've watched every episode of the television series, so when the OVA came out I knew I had to stick with it until the very end. The fact that the voice acting in the English Dub is pretty much spot on helps matters too.

So, let's talk about Hellsing. Favorite character? Favorite voice actor? Favorite episode? Let's hear it. <3

OMG awesome! Yop (Cthulhu) on this site has streamed a bit of Hellsing for us - I know at least Prince Lex, Satsu and I was in there for some of them. It's very nicely done, I haven't really watched animes since sometime in the 90's so it was great to watch. I think he streamed 2 or 3 and the last one I only watched 'with one eye' so I'll have to read up on the plot Yop you should start streaming again!

Also, can we please talk about OVA VII? Because that was probably my favorite one since OVA IV. I think it's because Seras ia legit BAMF and Pip's English voice actor was perfection. And I don't know what it is with me finding it awesome when Seras starts cussing. I think it's because you know that's when shit's about to go down.

That aside, big unmarked spoiler: the latter episodes are awesome, . I originally watched the anime adaptation, but iirc about 2/3rds of the way through they went (╯°□°）╯┻━┻ ʇıɥs sıɥʇ ʞɔnɟ and came up with their own story, that series ended on a bit of a WTF is this shit anticlimax, . But, back when I started watching the Ultimate series, it was funnay to see the beginnings of the series re-rendered at least, .

They just take forever to make new episodes though. iirc, it was something like six months for the earlier episodes, and a year and a half for IX or X (the one with

an overabundance of CGI dead people

).

Also yes, you guys should go "OMG YOP I'M HEAR STREAM NAO" more often, .

In the TV Series, Taliesen said that they were running out of manga so they just decided to do whatever they wanted with it, hence why that whole second episode was about those two vampires who Alucard kills in like ten seconds in OVA 1, and why the history between Alucard and Integra that happens in Vol. 1 of the manga happens in like Episode 10 in the TV series. It strayed a lot from the original, but it still has a charm to it that makes me appreciate it. And the soundtrack in the TV series is just wonderful.
