Nooo, not that one (unfortunately) But a remake sequel to the 1996 Movie. I've not seen any clips are plot details as of yet but just on the basis of the cast I am some what excited to see what this remake will be like.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson who is in pretty much everything these days but everything he touches seemingly turns to gold so with that expectations are somewhat high.

Kevin Hart, I find him hilarious but seemingly type cast as the dumb funny comic relief

Jack Black, Pretty much the same as Kevin Hart, I just hope this doesn't over do it on the dumb funny scale to were it's just fucking cheesy as.

Nick Jonas..... We'll see

Karen Gillan: This gets me excited. Loved her in Dr. Who and she was brilliant as Nebula in GotG.

I am a huge Robin Williams fan and I hope this movie doesn't ruin what a great movie that was. I also hope they don't go overboard with CGI animals and it ends up looking really tacky. At least have a few real animals in their!

Other than that, I hope it's as good as I want it too be.

It was a Spirital Sequel. It doesn't count as part of the same universe as Jumanji. Ahh, Jumanji, another one of my favorite films, with Robin Williams. I still miss him.

Heck, this was the very movie I was thinking about of him on the very day the news broke out announcing his death. I guess

the setting in Hawaii with the beach scene in the ending of the original film makes sense for the setting of the 'Continuation' of the 2017's film.

I feel so sorry for the new characters that are about to have a repeated history of those back in United Kingdom both in the 1800's and in 1969/1995 in the first flim. Wonder how this one's going to turn out and who will play that crazy human hunter character?

Also, I'd go as far as to call it a spin-off of "Jumanji." The film adaptation may have left out the explicit references to Jumanji, but they're in the book -- and clearly the two games are the same kind of magic (technology?). They're obviously part of the same world, even in the movie.

I loved the original film, it was one of my favourite films as a kid.

But when are people going to see that the Rock just isn't that good of an actor, he's a very cool bloke but just not that great of an actor. The old cast of Jumanji was on point too, not a single actor on that list can compete with Robin Williams or Kirsten Dunst.

While I'll agree that The Rock doesn't usually pick the most challenging roles, I've seen him give some fantastic performances in stuff besides the summer blockbusters.

The only times I really liked the Rock as an actor was when he played the role of the Scorpion King in "The Mummy Returns" and he was pretty funny in the Rundown(In Australia, the film's titled as "Welcome to the Jungle"), especially with the second Monkey encounter.

But other than that, the rest of his roles were pretty much, "Meh."

Personally, to be honest, I don't think the sequel to Jumanji isn't gonna be as good as the original was. But then, movie developers are running out of ideas these days as far as I can see.

By the way in regards to my comment on the Rocks acting ability, I think hes great for the type of movies that suit him, and I don't dislike him in any way. But as said above, hes good for Lad films that aren't the most challanging roles. My problem is, that I don't see Jumanji as one of those films that suit him.

Either way instead of getting annoyed about it I will just do the same as I did with Ghostbusters and just not watch it, it's there for the people that want it but sadly I am not one of those.

Yeah, I can see where you're somewhat coming from. If I had the chance to choose, I'd choose Brenden Frasher. Too bad they didn't think of that.

Even worse, Jack Black's gonna be in the new Jumanji film too. If he and the Rock are acting together...it's going to be a disaster.

And like you, I think I'll just avoid the new Jumanji too, since I tend to avoid films that I don't want to see or remakes that leaves me cold.

Aside from that, he's also doing the voice for Maui for Moana which looks like it's going to be pretty incredible.


(Also, Brendan Frasier's last role that I even remember was an uncredited bit part in the G.I. Joe film, and he's mainly doing voice acting these days, so I'm not sure why you'd jump to him as he's pretty much a non-option for a big film like this).


I'd wait to see something official to look at from the sequel before jumping to any sweeping conclusions about it not being able to be good. If it's not your jam, that's cool but it's usually good to have something more than a tiny actor list and no real premise beyond "a sequel" before making judgements (unless you really can't stand one of the actors, in which case it makes sense to duck out early).

I can't stand Jack Black.

But I love The Rock. I watch The Scorpion King a bajillion times a day and it would drive Mr Channy batty how I would always find it on tv on some rando channel.

No, I haven't. But I have seen bits and pieces of Journey 2 the Mysterious Island he starred in, and I know he'll be in Moana which doensn't appeal to me, but my sister wants to go and see it.

Really? I didn't know he went into voice acting. Not one film I've seen in trailers lately have I heard his voice, and I'm not a fan of G.I.Joe, so I didn't know he was in that either.

But yeah, other than that, no ones really seen him that much lately. Only times I do love in was his role as George of the Jungle(especially how he screams, LOL), his role in the Mummy trilogy and in 2008's version of Journey to the Centre of the Earth(I was a bit miffed that he wasn't in the sequel and that the Rock replaced him). I know he was in many other movies and such, but since most of them were produced or animated by...well, I don't want to say it, I'm not gonna list them. And Monkey Bone was blegh.

I don't think we'll be seeing much of it until the end of the year or next year at the earliest. I'll give it a try, but I'm not keeping my hopes up. I'm just still saddened that I'll never meet Robin Williams and I've always wanted to meet him but will never get the chance until I reach Heaven the day when I die(which won't be anytime soon I seriously hope. My 24th birthday's tomorrow.)
