It's planned to be a 30-min film released online for free. He's basically filmed everything already on his own, and he's just trying to use KickStarter to get all the post-production work done since nearly everything is done via greenscreen. It's an awesomely ambitious little project, and it seems like it could just be hilariously fantastic. Assuming that this goes viral as all hell and if they hit the $1m mark, they'll adjust the project to be a feature-length film.

They've finished up all of the 394 effects shots for the film and are doing final editing now. They're gonna let everyone know the official release date on Saturday (the 11th), and the only thing that we know about it now is that it is guaranteed to be within the next two months. I'm excited to see this finally pull together for the final stretch.

On their live Q&A they said that they managed to get ahold of his agent, they e-mailed him the trailer, and his response was that 15 seconds in he wanted to be a part of it.
