Let's Break Final Fantasy VI

Yes! I saw this before, and I love this! Although, I only saw it as the Something Awful thread, I didn't know about the nicely compiled series of articles you linked to first.
I wish people did things like this more for more games.
Although, I saw something similar for FF7 using the Saga Frontier 2 CD trick to completely shatter the sequence order. FF7 became a writhing mass of broken events and invisible Level 1 Cait Siths.

Much of this is stuff I already knew about or is a logical outgrowth of things I already new about, but that does not make it any less awesome.

Not all the way through yet, but hoping it gets better and better.

I always felt that Final Fantasy 6 never got enough attention by most, and this stuff is just fun. I do know some of the glitches (ran into some) and was totally amused by Cyan going crazy glitch especially. Gonna be enjoying this!

That series of articles was addictive. I couldn't stop reading until I'd read them all. I love this kind of shit!

Glitches and coding oversights are, like Elephantgun said, a game within a game. That's one of the things I loved about "Shadow of the Colossus." I easily spent more time with that game exploring areas you aren't supposed to be able to get to, riding hawks up to the height of the Shrine of Worship, and generally fucking with the game than I did actually playing it as it was meant to be played.

Shame the PS3 HD re-release took all that away.

Thanks so much for posting this, Aaron. =)

I just had to respond to El Diablo Gato's post. I absolutely adore Shadow of the Colossus! And I've heard a lot about all those secret (cut, inaccessible) areas of the game, but I've never explored them myself. Do you need to use some sort of cheating device, or is there some way to do it right on a normal PS2 without any external device?
I've also only briefly played with the hawk thing, I think I snatched onto a dove once, but it didn't last too long...
And finally, did they take away all those mystery spots in the PS3 release? What a shame. I haven't played the PS3 release though, is it otherwise really spectacular?
