Let's play FFXIV

Would anyone fancy streaming and commentating on FFXIV for our youtube channel? I think people would enjoy watching that

I would love to, but I can only do it in standard definition due to not having a HD capture device .

Is there a way to stream directly to YouTube now? I know I've seen other people doing it but I'd need to look it up myself. I don't know if they support streams directly from a client (in this case, Open Broadcaster) yet.

Uploading episodes is better. Livestreaming can only reach a limited audience.

I think it's a neat idea, but there are plenty other places that beat us to the punch (especially them damn gaming sites )

Well episodes might seem like a good idea, but this is a game that you can easily spend about 100 hours on before reaching level 20/ getting pretty much anywhere with the main story. It's not a very "episodic" kind of game given that it's a MMORPG, there aren't really chapters or anything like that :/.

If we were seriously thinking about doing this, we'd have to create a new character and start from the beginning. It might be better just to record some gameplay and put it out there, I really don't fancy starting a new character anytime soon.

I'm playing on PS3....... No way for me to do a "Let's Play" with screen caps.

Unless I take pics with my phone and they manage to be good, but I'm too lazy for that noise.

It wouldn't be hard to cut out the fat (the grind, etc.) if we had to.

Well that's because you powered ahead on a single character in the space of a week, most people make multiple characters for different roles

Also, I wouldn't mind Frapsing for a new character, though I don't tend to play in long marathon periods at a time, and that isn't exactly conducive to an LP >:

I think LPs of MMOs are good for giving people an impression of what its like starting out, like an entry point into the game.

I would do it as a first time MMOer, but streaming and getting other people involved is not my strong suit. Doing post commentary wouldnt really work for this type of thing.

We should mark the release of each major FF release on our channel tbh, Im just a bit cba most of the time.
