If you think not getting any Exp at the beginning of the game is annoying, wait until you can't fully level everyone until you beat the entire game...

Also, you will be having tutorials straight up through Chapter 11. The game is 90% tutorial. This is why I loathed the gameplay, even though I think the story, music and visuals are incredibly solid.
