I think you people need some enlightenment.

Now we know Cloud and Tifa reveal mutual romantic feelings for each other. But that doesn't mean anything. And I will show you why.

"I think that part of the reason we decided to have Kadaj's base in the Forgotten City is because it's the one place that Cloud avoids. But at the same time, perhaps he's drawn to it. There's sort of a hidden meaning to it, with the maternal essence of Aerith that lingers there." (Nomura, Reunion Files)

So, what does this quote say? It states that Cloud avoids the Forgotten City, but that he's also drawn to it. Period. It doesn't say anything about Cloud being drawn to Aerith's maternal essence.

I don't even have any words for that. Just that I am astounded.

Wait, they didn't give a shit in response to Leo's death?

Hell, OK/Luneth knew Aria a few hours and he had a pretty big reaction to her demise.

In any case, if you are generally nice to Tifa in the beginning and to her AND Aerith later, then Tifa will generally be running about 2-5 points ahead unless you take Aerith on the Dyne trip.

In any case, there is currently no real answer what the 'canon' date is, since they all keep getting featured in Ultimanias and such. I hold, somewhat fanonly, that they all happen, mostly because it amuses me to imagine the beleaguered Cloud having to go on all four dates in rapid succession.

Tell me again why both of them can't be maternal.

and so the quote is talking about Kadaj when it doesn't mention him? What?

EDIT:
oh it says his base but that makes no sense. "Kadaj's base is in the FC because Cloud avoids it but at the same time Kadaj is drawn to it..."

WHAT?

Ah, but Estelle, you see, Random Cloti's, those mythical creatures, do.

Seriously, though, I skimmed, but I still don't see anything they haven't been bitching about since 2006.

@Quex: BECAUSE AERITH IS SPESHUL! BECAUSE .... SHE IS!

I like the idea that they all happened--or at the very least, Tifa & Aerith--as well. No real reason.

As for Leo? No. Not really. They had a little funeral for him, then he was forgotten, save for one line Terra says about him.

But really, you're missing the point. Just because you can do it that way, it doesn't mean it's as good of a set-up.

So now it DOES say Cloud is drawn to it? I thought it was Kadaj that was being drawn to it. Make up your mind people.

...I think that quote isreferring to Cloud being drawn to the FC, not Kadaj.
They also refer to other fans who think that Kadaj is the one who's drawn to it, and take it as both at the same time.

"I understand that the reference is toward Kadaj... even if take the context..." (shadow Spirit) it says

Your Mom
I'm one who thinks both women have a maternal nature, and it doesn't prevent either of them from having romantic feelings for Cloud. Much ado about nothing and all.

But what I keep coming back to is the reasoning behind the writer's choices. WHY have Zack and Aerith joke about adopting him, and WHY have Cloud call her mother -- even in a confused, unconscious sense -- if she's his great love? I mean, this is it, ya know? Your two lovers are reunited, they have a chance to voice all the things they never had the chance to say, and you put ZACK in there and have Cloud call her mother? Is that the most romantic choice to make here?

Oh, yes, right. The random Clotis that are always trying to shove their ideals down people's throats, and hate them just because they aren't a Cloti fan.

I recall reading on that Forum once, about this girl who had said a Cloti fan bullied her in school because she was Clerith.

Come on, now... =_=;

I remember there was a guy I used to work with who used to talk about how powerful his characters were and he had this one summon that was uber rare called the "Ultimate Knight" I asked if he meant Knights of the Round but he was like, "No the Ultimate Knight is much more powerful..." He described it like basically the last Knight of KotR and Bahamut ZERO.

Anyway I didn't know much about FFVII at the time but I looked it up and of course found it not to exist. And this wasn't some kid, this was like a 27 year old man.

That is the definition of sad.

Do kids actually talk about this stuff at school?

I never heard talk about shipping 'irl', but there was a group of kids in my class in high school that frequently talked about FF games. It was normally boring crap, though I might remember it that way only because I wasn't interested in FF or any other kind of video games back then. :monster:

So yea, they do. Why wouldn't they?
