Which final dungeon/area/location was the most memorable of Final Fantasy?

For me, it had to be either the Dimensional Rift, or the inside of Sin of FFX. Oh, and Kefka's Tower definitely deserves an honorable mention. It's really hard to choose since they're all pretty awesome. Pandemonium was badass as well...I mean actually going to Hell to fight the final boss is pretty damn epic.

So yeah, vote and choose. :monster:

I think Artemisia/Ultimecia's castle was pretty damn awesome. It was made of oldschool evilness and awesome organ music. :monster:

pshaw. I never got to the end of FFIX. Maybe FFVII. Prolly not FFX cause I didn't want the game to end. So I guess I can't vote. :monster:

I voted for Kefka's Tower. A tower built from the ruins of the world that the entire party has to navigate to pass, very cool.

But, come on, we all know Giruvegan was the real final dungeon of XII. Coincidentally it was also where the real villain died. Anything after that in terms of storyline was formality.

I always thought it was sort of weird that the final confrontation in FF7 took place in a giant hole in the ground.

I've gotta go with the Dimensional Rift. I love trippy dungeons like that.

Kefka's Tower and Memoria get honourable mentions though. Inside Sin was kind of cool as well.

It's the deepest damn hole in the ground you'll ever go through, to its credit :monster:

My favourite is Ultimecia's Castle, although the final dungeons are, in general, quite nice, specially Kefka's Tower, the Northen Crater, the Crystal World and Sky Fortress Bahamut (more the fortress itself than its interior).

Ultimecia's Castle was fucking nuts. It's too good for the game it's in. Square really has yet to match it with almost any game they've ever made.

Ultimecia has really good taste in real estate and home decorating. That's why she's the most sophisticated and classy villain of all FF villainy :monster:

Not Sure - guess the movie.
I'd have to agree with Mako Eyes. Ulty's castle was the shiz.
I loved walking through it millions of times, oh and fighting the bosses.

And, she was harder than Sephy, that's for sure. Or, at least I found Sephy really easy lol

With a revealing dress like that, i would say that Ultimecia is a sophisticated and classy
high-class prostitute
/lady and her luxurious castle is a reflection of how well she receives her
clients
/guests. :monster:

I'm gonna have to go with Memoria, though that could be because its the freshest in my mind. But the whole way it's put together (or rather, isn't) was really cool. And I liked the walking in space part. The really long, twisting stairway up to the spooky castle that wasn't even really there when you get to it is most memorable to me.

The Dimensional Rift gets my honorable mention (going through the frozen-in-time Phantom Village is really cool), and the Northern Crater gets mention based solely on the fact that Judgment Day is a badass song.

(good idea for a topic, Mako)

Come on people, Ultimecia's place was an old and "abandoned" castle in ruins. It doesn't even make sense within the story, considering the fact it was located in a future(a time with more high advanced technology than friggin Esthar) ruled by Ultimecia(she could be in a much better place than that).

It's like the president of the USA moving from the White House to a cavern. It doesn't make sense.

But anyway, my favorite area is the one from FFIX. Memoria and Crystal World are so fu**ing beautiful and surreal. The story behind these locations is amazing too.

It doesn't matter if it makes sense. Its still cool, isn't it?

I'm gonna say inside of Sin, though Ultimecia's Castle is a VERY close second. Inside Sin was pretty simple, with no real puzzles or anything, but the visuals are incredible, and the monsters deserve your respect, just like they should.

But hot damn, Ultimecia's Castle...amazing.

No, it's like the president moving into a ...castle.

Ever thought she might just have a taste for places like that?
