Ardyn has the same problem as Zack, really. They kinda have to have cloned movesets from another character by definition

I'd love Zack, but yeah. His moveset might be too similar to Cloud's... there's little differentiation in their fighting styles. Aranea or maybe one of the three bros should be in it instead of Ardyn.

It would actually be pretty amusing to see Scion from The Bouncer in there, even though ironically it's such a little-known SQUARE game.

I want Tifa, Serah, Reno, Zack, Rinoa and Vincent, and between the two ForceStealer spoke up, I'd rather have Zack because I hate Ardyn as much as I hate Kefka.

At least with Kefka you can laugh at his either bored moments, his loss moments or him being stupid when he realises something too late at the last minute(like how in Dissidia 012
Vaan took Terra away from that annoying clown
). I always laugh whenever something goes wrong for Kefka.

Ardyn is an evil incarnate with a sick sense of humor and a very irritating personality. Personally, I think he enjoys being cruel.

However, before we all jump to conclusions, he might not be the character to be revealed on Tuesday. For all we know, the bad guy coming up next week could be Seifer or Seymour.

Male character is from Latter half, so it could be anybody, but I still hope it's Caius, if only as Lightning's counterpart.

That's why I said Seifer or Seymour since they're both from the latter half; Seifer from VIII-the start of the latter half, and Seymour from X.

But as you said, it could be Caius too. Better him than Dysley since the former is more suitable as Lightning's counterpart.

Couple things:

I decided it's more interesting to pick this game apart than to actually play it straight.

The Midgar stage has a very detailed "out of bounds" area I'm trying to get a closer look at.

Also there's a mysterious "crystal shatter" effect that happens after matches. Like a crystal breaking, or darkness scattering. I don't know why it happens, but it reminds me of the Bonus Chocobo notices you get before matches in Duodecim.

I was wondering about the Crystal Shattering too, and I originally thought it was part of the story battles based on the trailers.

Not to mention that they look very similiar to the Crystal in FFIX and Zidane's Crystal in the first Dissidia game.

My theory is that it's "leftover sfx" from the previous stage you cleared.

The game essentially stops everything the moment the winning blow is struck in Core Mode, even if Summons are present. So I think the leftover audio samples have to play before the game transitions to a new stage.

In normal mode it shows a replay of the last person to get wiped out, but then it flows time normally.

Saw this earlier today and squealed, proceeding to plaster it all over my social media accounts. I LOVE that Vayne is finally getting an appearance outside of XII; he's such an underrated antagonist and I love his character to death. I can only PRAY they get Elijah Alexander back to voice him for the English version; it's been over 10 years since XII came out... :closedmonster:

Under normal circumstances I'd be thrilled with a new character, but:

1. Grinding is a chore in this game, even with characters you LIKE to use. There's just not enough here to make battles fun.
2. I have no idea what Vayne's unique mechanics are, but he seems like Jecht without his sword, and that's not quite as exciting as anyone else would be. The Esper thing is a neat touch though.
3. No English Voice? I mean c'mon. Don't leave us hanging.

Oh yes, and this game HAS MOVELISTS NOW.... my god man.... OAO

Also, the "scale" of Orbonne is a lot bigger than the original game. The front door of the Monastery is YUGE.
