SPOILERS New site timeline?

Are we going to be updating the timeline on this site as a result of new information from the Remake, the Ultimania, and the new novella?

Personally I think it'd be better if we created a Remake timeline article, rather than editing the Compilation-centric timeline article.

Perhaps an article summarizing how the Remake diverges from the OG/Compilation timeline would be a good place to start. This would include stuff like how the timing and nuances of the Wutai war have changed (see bottom of this post).

Good question, Lic. Obviously our "Complete Timeline of the Compilation" is a tad less complete now, but I'm not yet sure how to incorporate stuff from the remake, or even if it should go onto that same table.

We may need to wait until we have confirmation on whether there's a sequel-to-AC element in play. Even if not, though, what with dealing with alternate universes raises the question of whether remake-specific data should be tabulated on its own table.

I would wait for more information. Since we have so little info about what has changed and how it fits into things.

I'd imagine the further and further we get in the Remake series, the more and more Timeline changes and clarifications we will get. So having a "Pre-Remake" and "Post-Remake" Timeline would probably be a good idea to consider.

Yeah, it's like trying to chart a map for unexplored territory before actually seeing or visiting said unexplored territory.

IMO, writing up a preliminary timeline (parallel tables that show how Remake vs Compilation/OG order of events differ?) would be good, since information could be freely added as more games/information comes out. Although, Part 2 probably won't be until post-Q1 2023, if that one deleted Reddit rumor is/was anything to go by.....For example, Remake's timeline briefly mentions Barret and co starting up their Midgar Avalanche faction while Compilation's timeline instead focused on Before Crisis Avalanche content.

I once mentioned this in another thread, but 1 minor confusion is how FF7 World Preview (perhaps the Remake Ultimania, too, I'm unsure) retains Cloud meeting up with Tifa in October/2 months before December's bombing mission...but it's after said bombing mission that he first hears about Stargazer Apartments, so.... Maybe future games will work that kind of thing into the plot. (Maybe Remake!Cloud was loopy from his Mako Poisoning for a longer stretch of time??)
